Welcome to our first blog in the Shooting Star class!
This week was quite busy as our young learners began adjusting to their new routines and classroom environment. To kick off our activities, we played a fun game called “Pass the Microphone.” Music played while the children passed the microphone around, and when the music stopped, the child holding it introduced themselves. They shared their name, age, favorite color, favorite food, pets, and more. It was a wonderful way to get to know each other and celebrate both our differences and similarities. Shooting Starクラス、初めてのブログへようこそ！
今週は、子どもたちが新しい生活リズムやクラスの環境に少しずつ慣れていく、にぎやかな一週間となりました。活動のスタートとして、「Pass the Microphone（マイクを回そう）」というゲームを行いました。音楽に合わせてマイクを回し、音楽が止まった時にマイクを持っているお友だちが自己紹介をします。名前や年齢、好きな色や食べ物、ペットのことなど、それぞれが自分のことを教えてくれました。
お互いの違いや共通点を知ることができ、とても素敵な時間となりました。たくさんお話してくれてありがとう、Shooting Starのみんな！✨
For our phonics lesson, we reviewed the letters A–F and their sounds. The students also gave examples of words that begin with each letter. We identified both the uppercase and lowercase forms of each letter.
After that, we played a game called “Find My Pair.” The students walked around the classroom to find the other half of a bone to complete the uppercase and lowercase letter pairs. Lastly, each pair stood in front of the class to say the letter and its sound.
This activity aimed to foster social skills among the students while helping them learn the alphabet in an easy and fun way!
フォニックスのレッスンでは、A〜Fの文字とその音を復習しました。子どもたちは、それぞれの文字から始まる言葉も考えて発表してくれました。また、大文字と小文字の形についても確認しました。
その後、「Find My Pair（ペアを見つけよう）」というゲームを行いました。クラスの中を歩きながら、骨のカードのもう半分を探し、大文字と小文字のペアを完成させます。最後はペアごとに前に出て、文字とその音をみんなの前で発表しました。
この活動を通して、楽しみながらアルファベットへの理解を深めるとともに、お友だちとの関わりや協力する力も育まれました！
In our Unit of Inquiry, we began our discussion with a gallery walk as a provocation. Each group had a chance to come to the front and look at the photos displayed. They carefully observed the pictures one by one.
After the activity, they were asked to share their ideas about what they saw and what they thought Unit 1 might be about. Some of them said they saw a dog, a mommy and daddy, a grandma and grandpa, friends, adults, and a family. We talked about our own families and how each of us may have different or similar family structures. We also learned who our family members are, how many members we have, and where they live. It was wonderful to hear their ideas and see them actively participating in the lesson!
UOIでは、導入として「ギャラリーウォーク」を行いました。グループごとに前に出て、壁に貼られた写真を一枚ずつじっくりと観察しました。写真を見て気づいたことや、「Unit 1ではどんなことを学ぶのか」について、自分の考えを発表しました。「犬がいる」「お母さんとお父さん」「おじいちゃんとおばあちゃん」「お友だち」「大人」「家族」など、さまざまな意見が聞かれました。
その後は、自分の家族についても話し合い、家族の形はそれぞれ違うことや、似ているところがあることに気づくことができました。また、家族には誰がいるのか、何人家族なのか、どこに住んでいるのかについても学びました。
子どもたちが自分の考えをのびのびと伝え、積極的に活動に参加する姿がとても印象的でした。
Lastly, we had an awesome time playing at the park! We enjoyed the springtime by looking at and taking pictures of the cherry blossom trees. We also played on the play structures, watched trains, and had fun on the hills, where we raced and rolled down together. It was very fun indeed!
そして最後に、バスに乗って南部公園へ行き、たくさん遊んできました！春の自然を感じながら、桜の木を見たり、写真を撮ったりして楽しみました。遊具で遊んだり、電車が来るたびに駆け寄って手を振ったり、丘ではお友だちと一緒にかけっこをしたり転がったりと、思いきり体を動かして過ごしました。子どもたちにとって、とても楽しいひとときとなりました🌸
