Hello Everyone,
Welcome to our last blog for the month of November.
This week, Shooting Star class in Minami campus and Savanna class in Shimauchi campus had a trip together to Gojo Elementary school. Students went straight to Gojo with their parents and met up at the huge schoolyard. After checking the attendance and morning greeting, we began to walk to the apple orchard. As soon as we all got to the apple farm, we gathered around to greet the farmers and one of them explained the apple picking protocols. Right after the farmer’s explanation, we walked through the area open for picking. Each family picked three sweet and crispy apples and aside from that, the farmers prepared free taste apple for everyone. Then, we thanked the farmers, took a group photo and headed back to Gojo Elementary school. We then joined with the first graders and played the gesture game with them. Thank you Mr. Thapelo for welcoming us to your class. Then we moved to Grade 2 class and watched the second graders performed the BTS dance and Big Turnip play. The turnip was so enormous that they needed the help of Shooting Star class to pull it up. Finally, they pulled up the big turnip together. We had so much fun! Thank you, Mr. Art for welcoming us to your class. At lunch time we assembled in the Sky room and had our lunch at the same time. After lunch, we had the chance to tour around the elementary school. We visited from one class to another while parents gathered together in the library for a presentation intended for them. Finally, before we left the campus, Shooting Star and Savanna class played the train game together. It was a delightful experience for students, teachers, and parents working together as a school community.
We had a wonderful Phonics lesson with CVC words cut out activity to boost our reading confidence and fine motor skills. Students were tasked to cut out the letters to form the -ob word family CVC words under each picture.
Our Christmas Show practice is on-going! We are doing our best every time we practise by memorizing our lines, using big voice, and big actions.
Have a great weekend everyone!
