Recycle: Let’s Sort the Garbage! MW 1/20-1/24

Hello everyone! This is the dance we learned about recycling last week which was conducted by the staff of the City Hall. Please click the link below and watch and dance with your children to also encourage them and everyone in your family to recycle.

Milky Way class continued to explore 3 R’s this week and we learned about RECYCLE. We did a picture matching activity to show what they have learned in the workshop last week wherein students have to match what new product will be made after recycling some materials. And through this activity, they were able to define what recycle is. Recycle is turning something old or useless into something new. They also learned that some recyclable materials have marks on it, so we checked the rubbish they brought from home and identified which is recyclable. We watched some videos on how recyclable materials are being recycled into something new like new paper and clothes. Our students worked together to make color coded garbage bins which we can use to sort the garbage. They painted four boxes and we used it in our lesson to practice sorting garbage using the guidelines or rules for sorting and disposal of household garbage and recyclable materials ordered by the Matsumoto City Hall. They learned how to prepare the recyclable materials before taking them to the garbage collection station such as paper, cardboard boxes, milk cartons, metals, bottles, and cans.

Our class made a hat with the face of a demon using recyclable materials such as tissue boxes, plastic egg cartons, and scrap paper. They imagine what a demon looks like and start making their own version of the demon face. They also used colorful markers to draw and color their hats. They will wear it next week as we celebrate Setsubun in school.

Thank you for reading our blog! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!😍
