Greetings,
We kicked off this week with a birthday party! One of the Rainbow students celebrated with friends from other classes and had a birthday blast. The Music room was filled with a joyful birthday song as we sang altogether and we felt a wonderful feeling of celebration. Mr. Igor hosted the party and he carried out a general trivia which made the party even more exciting. He divided the crowd into two groups then, he asked a question for each group. A group got the point for every correct answer. And the winner is? It’s a dead heat!

We continued our topic about shapes and this time, we carried out matching objects and shapes activities. We targeted two skills, the vocabulary of objects and shapes at the same time and we tried to make sentences like, “Button is circle”, “Pizza is triangle”, etc. We also incorporated shapes to our songs like, How’s the weather? After singing, the teacher would ask, What’s the shape of the sun, rain? etc. We tried to ask unended questions to students to develop their thinking skills. During our workstation time, we allow students to match the shapes and to do whatever they want to explore in the classroom to develop a sense of responsibility for their learning process and outcomes.

We had a Gym lesson and everyone engaged with high energy in all the activities from the physical exercise to the ball activity. They liked the ball activity the most. Rainbow students were being communicators. Yes, they listened to the teacher’s instruction and executed what the teacher asked them to do. Kudos, Rainbow!

Grandparents’ Day is coming next week! With that in mind, we made a personal and meaningful gift for them that represents the child’s creativity and effort. It’s token of their love, affection, and appreciation.

And finally, we had so much playing in the schoolyard with our friends.

Have a fantastic long weekend, everyone!
