This week was extra special and full of excitement—we finally went on our much-anticipated field trip🚒🚑 to the fire station! We had been talking about it every day, and you could really feel their curiosity growing. In class, we’ve been inquiring into road safety and how special vehicles help protect us and keep our community safe. Even on our daily walks and bus rides, the students now spot street signs and proudly explain what they mean and why they matter.
Our visit was packed with discoveries! We explored an ambulance and learned about the important tools used to help people in emergencies. We also watched a small fire engine in action and examined the equipment it carries. When we noticed a red van behind the truck, one student excitedly said, “That’s the Shikisha! (command vehicle)” What a great example of sharing prior knowledge and making connections!
The highlight for many was the big ladder truck, called the Hashigousha. We learned that the “L15” on the front shows the length of its ladder, and that there are different types of ladder trucks used in different areas. The children asked thoughtful questions, shared ideas, and showed real enthusiasm for learning.
今週は特別でワクワクする一週間でした——待ちに待った消防署への校外学習🚒🚑がついに実現したのです！毎日話題に上り、子どもたちの好奇心がどんどん膨らんでいくのが感じられました。クラスでは交通安全について学び、特殊車両がどのように私たちを守り、地域を安全に保っているのかを探究してきました。毎日の散歩やバス通学でも、子どもたちは道路標識を見つけ、その意味や重要性を誇らしげに説明してくれるようになりました。
見学では発見の連続！救急車の中を探検し、緊急時に人々を助ける重要な道具について学びました。小型消防車の活動の様子を見学し、搭載されている装備も調べました。消防車の後ろに赤いバンがあるのに気づくと、ある子が興奮して「あれは指揮車だよ！」と叫びました。素晴らしい事前知識の共有と関連付けの例です！
多くの児童にとってのハイライトは、はしご車と呼ばれる大きな梯子車でした。前面の「L15」が梯子の長さを示していること、地域によって異なる種類のはしご車が使用されていることを学びました。児童たちは思慮深い質問をし、意見を共有し、学ぶことへの真の熱意を示しました。
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, our classroom was filled with smiles, excitement, and lots of love! We created a very special craft for our dear Mom and Dad. They even got to choose which craft they wanted to make, which made the activity extra meaningful and fun.
Before we started, we talked a little about Valentine’s Day and why we celebrate it: sharing love, kindness, and appreciation with the people who are special to us. We worked carefully and proudly on our creations, already imagining the big smiles on their parents’ faces.😍 HAPPY VALENTINE`S DAY!!!❤️❤️❤️
バレンタインデーを祝うため、教室は笑顔と興奮、そしてたくさんの愛でいっぱいになりました！私たちは大切なママとパパのために、とても特別な工作を作りました。どの工作を作るか選ぶこともできたので、この活動はさらに意味深く楽しいものになりました。
始める前に、バレンタインデーについて少しお話ししました。なぜ祝うのか、大切な人たちに愛や優しさ、感謝を分かち合う日だと。みんな慎重に、そして誇らしげに作品を作りながら、もうすでに両親の大きな笑顔を想像していました。😍 ハッピーバレンタインデー！！！❤️❤️❤️
