Hello Everyone!
This busy week kids had lots of fun Playing, Learning and Growing. As we are nearing the end of Aurora class, almost a little more over 2 more months to go, We are focused in gearing up the kids for the next level which will be becoming Shooting Stars.
UOI 4
For our UOI 4 we looked at more things that move and don’t move, we sort them out, identified and named things that move and don’t move.
ABC’s / Phonetics
For Phonics, we have been reviewing and mastering our ABC’s, we started doing the letter A, B and C again. We practiced writing it, learning more words that start with it, and memorizing its phonetic sound. Everyone is making progress with their writing skills. They can all write their own names and remember the beginning letter of their names and their friend’s names too which is cool.
We will be continuing our review and practice til’ we reach the Letter Z.
Here are the link of the videos of the Letters we did this week
Music / Dance / Swimming
In music and dance class kids were able to challenge themselves even more as they try to concentrate and follow the given instructions and tasks that the teacher ask. They were able to have fun and perform more because they were engaged, eager, willing and are a little bit more mature and principled to try to do things in class.
In Swimming lessons, we would like to thank the parents for their attendance during the swimming open day. The kids were ecstatic knowing you will be coming to watch them. They were all organized and cooperative and risk takers.
IB Learner’s Profile
We are revisiting our 10 IB Learner’s Profile. It is a good time to talk to the kids about the different learner’s profile that we have. The kids now have a better understanding of the profile based on their experienced in the class.
At class we talked about what it means to be CARING and PRINCIPLED. We asked each other WHAT it means and HOW are we doing it. They also know the WHY behind it.
Happy to say that the kids are well aware of what they can do to be caring and be principled. They said they can be CARING by sharing toys, playing nicely and taking turns and they are PRINCIPLED when they help clean up, throw the trash in the trash can and when they line up or sit nicely, or when they raise their hands to speak. We are learning the 10 IB learner’s profile because this are the things we strive to be individually and collectively.
OUTSIDE PLAY – During outside play we added some structured play not just free play. Here we are enjoying the space and did some exercises to strengthen our bodies.
There’s been a noticeably good balance of Play and Learning in the class which really is a sign of Growth. Everyone has grown in such a way that they can transition from one schedule to the next, they are a little bit more independent, capable and skilled that makes the class efficient time wise, which in turn gives us a little more time to do more.
Thank you for reading this weeks blog. Have a good weekend.
