Welcome back, and happy New Year! After a refreshing winter break, we were excited to return to school and begin a new year filled with new adventures, learning, and meaningful experiences.
This week, we enjoyed our first dance lesson since November. We began by dancing the two routines we performed for our Christmas show, which helped the students recall familiar movements and build confidence. After revisiting these routines, we started planning to learn a new dance, and the students were eager and excited for the challenge ahead.
In our Unit of Inquiry, we spent time reflecting on our previous unit. Together, we discussed how important it is to express our ideas and feelings using signs and symbols. The students shared thoughtful reflections and demonstrated a deeper understanding of how communication can take many forms.
Music class was also a highlight this week. We started learning a new song on the melodion, practicing finger placement, rhythm, and listening carefully to one another. The students showed great focus and excitement as they explored this new piece.
おかえりなさい！そして新年あけましておめでとうございます！爽やかな冬休みを終え、学校に戻り、新しい冒険、学び、そして有意義な経験に満ちた新年を迎えるのが待ち遠しかったです。
今週は、11月以来初めてのダンスレッスンを楽しみました。まずはクリスマスショーで披露した2つのルーティンを踊りました。生徒たちは慣れ親しんだ動きを思い出し、自信を深めることができました。ルーティンを復習した後、新しいダンスを学ぶ計画を立て始めました。生徒たちはこれから始まる挑戦に、ワクワクと期待でいっぱいでした。
探究単元では、前回の単元を振り返る時間を取りました。サインやシンボルを使って自分の考えや感情を表現することの大切さについて、生徒たちは共に話し合いました。生徒たちは思慮深い考察を共有し、コミュニケーションには様々な形があることを深く理解することができました。
音楽の授業も今週のハイライトでした。ピアニカで新しい曲を学び始め、指の配置やリズム、そしてお互いの音に注意深く耳を傾ける練習をしました。生徒たちは新しい曲を探求する中で、非常に集中力と興奮を見せていました。
We were also lucky to experience snow during the first week of the year! The students enjoyed playing outside, shoveling the snow on the ground, and piling it up in the corner of the playground. As the snow began to freeze, the students became curious and eager to break the ice, turning the experience into a fun and hands-on exploration.
幸運にも、新年最初の週に雪が降るという素晴らしい体験ができました！生徒たちは外で楽しく遊び、地面の雪かきをしたり、校庭の隅に雪を積み上げたりしました。雪が凍り始めると、生徒たちは好奇心旺盛になり、雪かきに挑戦したくなりました。この体験は、楽しく実践的な探検へと変わりました。
