Hello, everyone!

What a fun week it’s been in our Milky Way class— we went to see cherry blossoms and played freely at the park.

みなさん、こんにちは！

ミルキーウェイクラスでは楽しい一週間を過ごしました。桜を見に行ったり、公園で自由に遊んだりしました。

UOI

We started our UOI discussion with a question: “What is teamwork?” To discuss this topic, we separated the compound word “teamwork” and defined both words separately. For us, team means “us”, “everyone”, and “kids”. Work means “with friends” and “do something”. Then we put these words together to “teamwork” and defined it as “everyone is doing something together”, and “doing something faster because more hands are better than 1.

We also watched a read-aloud story from YouTube titled The Little Red Hen. We were tasked to see and think whether the characters in the story had teamwork.

For this unit, we are going to learn to work together to achieve a common goal.

UOIの議論は、「チームワークとは何か？」という問いから始まりました。このテーマを議論するために、「チームワーク」という複合語を分離し、それぞれを個別に定義しました。私たちにとって、「チーム」とは「私たち」「みんな」「子供たち」を意味します。「ワーク」とは「友達と」「何かをする」という意味です。そして、これらの言葉をまとめて「チームワーク」とし、「みんなで何かをすること」「一人より人数が多い方がより良いので、何かをより早く行うこと」と定義しました。

また、YouTubeで「赤いめんどり」という読み聞かせのお話も視聴しました。物語の登場人物にチームワークがあるかどうかを見て考えるという課題が出されました。

このユニットでは、共通の目標を達成するために協力することを学びます。

We’ve officially resumed our dance, swimming, and music lessons for the school year, and the joy was absolutely contagious

ダンス、水泳、音楽の授業が正式に再開され、その喜びはみんなに伝わっていました。

Dance Lesson

Our dance lesson has started! We met our teacher and reviewed the dances that we did in our Shooting Star class last year. We then continued learning more steps for the “Let’s Play” dance. And of course, it’s always fun to end the lesson with the playground parachute!

ダンスレッスンが始まりました！先生と会って、昨年のシューティングスタークラスで踊ったダンスを復習しました。その後、「Let’s Play」ダンスのステップをさらに学びました。そしてもちろん、パラシュートでレッスンを締めくくるのも楽しいですよ！

Swimming Lesson

We resumed our swimming lesson this week and met our teachers again after the break. This time we are off to new challenges in swimming. We are ready to take on the challenges!

今週は水泳の授業を再開し、休み明けに先生方と再会しました。今回は水泳の新たな挑戦です。さあ、挑戦する準備は万端です！

Music Lesson

For our first piece this year, we are going to play Bun Bun Bun, a Japanese nursery song that is about a bee flying around. We are playing with our melodion.

今年の最初の曲は、「ぶんぶんぶん」です。日本の童謡で、蜂が飛び回る歌です。ピアニカで演奏します。
