Hello Everyone!
We happily welcomed the month of February ♥️ the month of Love.
The highlight of the week was the celebration of Setsubun, a traditional Japanese event that marks the coming of spring. Everyone in class was told that a demon was coming and we had to chase it away by throwing paper balls (beans) while shouting “Go out demon, Go out”. Kids had mixed emotions when the demon came – some got scared, some bravely fought the demon, thankfully nobody cried. After all the excitement we watched a short video explaining this traditional event, then kids made their own demon mask during craft. It was such an unforgettable, thrilling and exciting experience for sure.

This week we also had an introduction of our New theme: Family 💕. Everyone learned a new song related to the theme. Kids got to name some members of the family. We will be exploring more of this months theme through role playing, music, dance, craft, stories and fun activities. We will be exploring what family means and how families care for one another.
In Gym class, the children practiced moving their bodies in fun and energetic ways. Kids walked like bears, leapt like frogs, rolled on the ground, and moved like ninjas. During gym class we focused on balance, jumping, running and teamwork through simple games that encouraged cooperation and confidence. Lots of smiles and giggles filled the air as everyone gave their best effort!

Our Music class was full of rhythm and excitement 🎶. The kids had fun playing with the fruit shaped maracas. Everyone shook the maracas either fast or slow, moving it up or down, everyone tried to shake the maracas following the beat. Music time is always a wonderful way for children to express themselves and build listening skills.

We also made the most of the fresh air with Outdoor play 🌤️. Running, climbing, and playing together outside helped the children strengthen their bodies while developing social skills like sharing and turn-taking.

It was a joyful and active week, and we’re excited to continue exploring our family theme while making many more memories together in February.
Thank you for reading this weeks blog. Have a warm and cozy weekend. Stay healthy everyone.
