Nagano Shooting Star – Wrapping Up Our 3D Map Project (March 3rd-7th)

Hello everyone!

We had another fun week here in Shooting Star class. We finished up our final UOI projects and played in what will likely be the last of our snow play.

UOI

Our 3D map project has come to a successful end! Over the past few weeks, our Shooting Star class has been hard at work planning, building, and reflecting on their community map.

The project began with brainstorming which places to include in our map. The children counted how many buildings and items were needed and discussed the best materials to use, choosing cardboard and tissue boxes to bring their ideas to life. They practiced measuring, comparing sizes, and learning how different materials work for different parts of the map.

Through teamwork, the students worked together to construct the map, adding details like doors, windows, and other fun decorations. They painted and decorated their map, making it colorful and exciting. As they worked, they also reflected on the importance of the places included in the map, discussing why these locations are important to our community.

With the project now finished, we are so proud of our Shooting Star students’ teamwork, creativity, and the knowledge they gained about their community!

Snow play

We were lucky enough to have one last day with a lot of snow, and we took the chance to play outside. We had fun making castles and roads with the snow. On the other days we still had fun playing with the remaining snow outside.

Birthday Party

Two of our friends—and one of our teachers—celebrated their birthdays in March! We honored them during our monthly birthday party, where they stood proudly in front of everyone, answered fun questions, and received their birthday cards. Happy birthday!
