【Key objective of Finnish Teachers position】
ISN (International School of Nagano, Japan. isnedu.org/en) to contribute the community’s education and activities in education. The newly recruited teacher will demonstrate teaching strategies mainly in the classroom and in the annually scheduled workshops in the community. S/he works together to develop the training strategies with a team of finnish university and ISN members. S/he promotes Finnish Education in various way together with ISN members and with the local government. The teacher is an informed, reflective practitioner who uses enquiry learning strategies using the PYP framework to create positive learning environments which motivate and challenge all learners to become self-regulated, life-long learners and leaders.
The Finnish Kindergarten/Elementary Teacher is responsible for :
- Supporting the programme and learning environment for the students and parents
- Initiating and facilitating training with ISN pedagogical team: observation, reflection and implementation.
- Promoting well-being oriented activities in the school community.
- Being a model teacher in a Kindergarten classroom and beyond.
Key Relationships
The Finnish Teachers reports to the one of the universities in Finland and ISN Principal via the Head of PYPC for example via common folder and in the regular meeting held once in 2 months (the frequency may change depending on the situation and circumstance). The Finnish Teachers will develop and maintain effective working relationships with:
- A university in Finland
- Local government
- ISN pedagogical leaders team
- ISN All campus staff members
- Parents and learners
Personal Specification
- A degree plus teaching qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant area
- Higher degree or recognized professional qualification (preferred)
- Evidence of continued relevant professional development
Condition
- 3 year contract
- Competitive salary

- Accommodation fee: up to 600,000 yen/yr will be supported
- Round trip flight: up to 200,000 yen/yr will be supported
- National insurance、Work insurance are provided
- Submission of project proposal (ideas) in Japan
