On Monday, April 16, International Baccalaureate Association of Japan held a meeting at Tokyo Aoba International School. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) participated as well and both sides agreed to cooperate on spreading IB in Japan. A workgroup was created between the two partners in order to advance discussion. There is a gap between the wishes of the IB Association of Japan and the plans of the Ministry which will hopefully be decreased through the work of the workgroup. ISN head of school Rie Kuribayashi became its leader.
“Since joining the IB workshop for the first time in 2014, I have been involved with the IB programme for three and a half years now. Through the skill of language, the inquiring attitude and the knowledge and expertise, we can become the choice of children all over the world. I believe that we can be the leaders of the change that we want to bring to society.” – Rie Kuribayashi
