Happy New Year, everyone!
As we welcomed the New Year at ISN, our little ones enjoyed a fun and exciting first week of the month. We started by going to the park with their Savanna friends, where they played together and enjoyed a lively game of freeze tag.
皆さま、あけましておめでとうございます。
ISNで新しい年を迎え、子どもたちは今月最初の週を楽しく元気いっぱいに過ごしました。サバンナクラスのお友だちと一緒に公園へ行き、氷鬼をしてたくさん走り回ったり、遊具で遊んでにぎやかな時間を楽しみました。
Next, the children explored new games and activities at their workstations, such as a Japanese card game, kendama, and folding and cutting snowflakes. These activities helped develop their focus, creativity, and coordination.
その後、子どもたちはワークステーションで、かるたやけん玉、折り紙で雪の結晶作りなどの新しい遊びに挑戦しました。失敗しても何度も挑戦するRainforestさん達！集中力や創造力、手先の協調性を育むことができました。
We’re looking forward to adding even more engaging activities starting next week.
In our phonics lesson, we focused on the consonant blends “ph” and “th.” We brainstormed and looked for words containing these blends and wrote them on the board. The children then watched an educational video and practiced reading different words aloud. To reinforce their learning, they completed a worksheet that helped strengthen their understanding and confidence in using these sounds.
来週からは、さらに楽しいアクティビティをたくさん取り入れていく予定です。
フォニックスのレッスンでは、「ph」と「th」の子音ブレンドを学びました。これらの音が入った単語をみんなで考えて探し、ホワイトボードに書き出しました。その後、もっと理解を深めるためビデオを見ながら、さまざまな単語を声に出して読む練習をしました。仕上げにワークシートにも取り組み、音への理解を深めるとともに、自信をもって使えるようになりました。
For our Unit of Inquiry, as we concluded Unit 3 on Storytelling, the children drew pictures to show their understanding of the learner profile “Risk-Takers.” Through their drawings, they expressed how being a risk-taker means trying new things and doing their best, even when something feels challenging.
探究レッスンでは、「物語」をテーマにしたユニット3のまとめとして、IB学習者像の「Risk-Takers（挑戦する人）」について、自分たちが理解したことを絵で表現しました。子どもたちは、難しく感じることでも新しいことに挑戦し、一生懸命取り組むことが「挑戦する人」であるという思いを、絵で表現し伝えてくれました。
They were also awarded certificates for demonstrating their best efforts during our Winter Show. We are so proud of their confidence, creativity, and courage. Great job, everyone!
また、ウィンターショーで最後まで一生懸命取り組んだ子ども達は、修了証を受け取りました！自信をもって表現する姿や、創造力、そして勇気あふれる姿に、私たちはとても誇りに思っています。みんな、本当によくがんばりましたね！
Our youngsters also began practicing for their bell performance in preparation for their graduation. They are learning to work together, follow rhythms, and build confidence as they rehearse. We’re excited to see their hard work come together for this special occasion!
卒園に向けて、ハンドベルの演奏練習も始まりました。子どもたちは練習を通して、みんなで力を合わせること、リズムに合わせて演奏すること、そして自信をもって取り組むことを学んでいます。この特別な日に向けて、努力が形になっていくのを見るのが今からとても楽しみです。
