ANIMAL PATTERNS

Which animal is this? Black and White Stripes… Zebra! We had a guessing game. Canyon was having fun and learning new words to describe patterns on animals. Stripes, spots, rings and more! We even became ‘zebras’! (We used non-toxic washable paint sticks.)

これは何の動物？白黒の縞模様。。。シマウマ！あてっこゲームを楽しみました。キャニオンさん達は楽しみながら動物のパターン化している模様を英語で表現する言葉を学びました。しま模様、斑点、輪模様などたくさんあります！そしてなんと、身体にストライプを描いてZebraになりました。（無毒で水洗い可能なペイントスティックを使用しました。）

Canyon worked hard on their jungle, forest animal crafts – snakes, tigers, panda. What colours and patterns are you making on your animal craft? How do you know that this is a tiger? Inquiry through art is one of the best ways to learn. We coloured in a grassland habitat too. Each student could name at least 3 animals such as elephant, giraffe, lion, ostrich, zebra. Well-done!

今週はジャングルや森林にすんでいる動物のクラフトを製作しました。蛇、トラ、パンダ。どんな模様が作った動物にはあるの？これがトラだとどうしてわかるの？アートを通して探求することは、学ぶ最良の方法の一つです。ワークシートでも草原の生息地に色を塗りました。子ども達一人ひとりが、ゾウ、キリン、ライオン、ダチョウ、シマウマなど、少なくとも3種類の動物の名前を挙げられました。よくできました！

ANIMAL PHONICS & BELLS

We are singing an Animal Phonics song. This is the start of being aware of letter sounds – ‘A’ makes the sound /a/ as in alligator and antelope. This is a song from Rock and Learn that is linked to our UOI. For music class, Canyon has been trying out different musical instruments including bells.

動物のフォニックスソングも歌っています！これは、Aという名前のアルファベットが持つ音を学び始めるにはとても良いお歌です。”a”はのalligatorの”a”とantelopeの”a”だよ。UOIに関わるリンク、Rock and Learnからの曲です。また、今週のMusicクラスでは、ベルなどの初めての楽器に触れました。
