The pilot here. Passengers here. Four… Mummy, Daddy, Me and R. Airplane can move so fast… here engines!
ISN bus is bigger. More wheels. We can have Waterfall and Canyon. We cannot all sit in a car!
Helicopter, motorbike, tractor, bicycle, motorbike, van, rowing boat, cruise ship, sailboat.”
It has been an exciting unit of action-packed police cars, fire engines, trucks, bicycles, hot airplanes and more! Canyon’s transport vocabulary has grown and so has their understanding of connecting to places with the different transports. How do we go to school, to the gym? How many passengers can in ISN bus or your Mummy’s car? How can we move things? When we are hurt how can we get to the hospital? Canyon has been discussing these ideas and concepts, not just recalling facts in our inquiries. Excellent job, Canyon! We even talked about road safety. In a Peppa Pig’s Road Safety video, Canyon even commented that it is different. How? Canyon: “We put our arms up when we cross the road. But Peppa Pig, no!” We talked about how the rules are different in Japan and elsewhere.

このユニットは、パトカー、消防車、トラック、自転車、飛行機など、アクション満載でとてもワクワクする内容でした！キャニオンの乗り物に関する語彙も増え、さまざまな交通手段で場所とつながることの理解も深まりました。学校やジムへはどうやって行く？ISNのバスやママの車には何人乗れる？荷物はどうやって運ぶ？怪我をしたときはどうやって病院に行く？キャニオンはこうしたアイデアや概念について考え、単に事実を覚えるだけでなく議論していました。素晴らしい！
道路安全についても話しました。Peppa Pig（ペッパピッグ）の道路安全のビデオでは、子ども達が「違う！」とコメントしました。どう違うの？
キャニオン：「僕たちは道を渡るときに腕を上げる。でもPeppa Pigは上げてない！」
ルールは日本や他の国では違うことも話しました。
SHAPES, ALPHABET REVIEW & WRITING PRACTICE
We reviewed basic shapes with this fun video – hunting for shapes. Canyon tried drawing these shapes with colour patterns -draw a red square, then blue, red, blue then what colour is next? We danced to the Alphabet Dance from the previous unit. Everyone enjoyed singing and dancing all the 26 letters with our bodies.
この楽しい動画「形を探そう」で基本の形を復習しました。キャニオンは色のパターンで形を描くことにも挑戦しました。例えば、「赤い四角を描いて、次に青、赤、青…では次の色は何？」というようにです。
前のユニットでやったアルファベットダンスも踊りました。みんなで体を使って26文字すべてを歌い、踊るのを楽しみました。

It is Canyon’s final month of the school year 2025-2026. How our little Canyon children have grown! Physically, socially, and intellectually, they have learned so much. They are now more confident learners, especially in the use of English as a daily language in school. They will no longer be the youngest in our ISN family come April 2026. They have all been promoted to Savanna! Congratulations. All the very best!
キャニオンにとって、2025～2026年度の学年の最後の月となりました。小さなキャニオンの子どもたちは、本当に大きく成長しました！身体的にも、社会性でも、知的にも、多くのことを学びました。今では、特に日常的に英語を使うことに自信を持った学習者になっています！4月には、もうISNファミリーの中で最年少ではなくなります。全員がサバンナに進級です！おめでとうございます。これからのますますの活躍を願っています。

I have received so much love, laughter and learning – how to be a good IB teacher, how to make an origami tulip, how to slurp my noodles and more! It was not an easy decision to make, having to leave Japan and return to Singapore.
With a heavy heart, I say goodbye. I will miss Matsumoto castle, the Alps mountains, and of course the beautiful people of ISN! I am thankful for my wonderful students, the fantastic support from parents and my lovely colleagues.
