Firstly, a big shout out to our August birthday boy. HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY!

We are Going on a Bear Hunt & Elmer the Elephant

Our inquiries brought us deep into the depth of jungles, forests and grasslands! We went hunting for a big brown bear and we are NOT scared. We spotted a colourful elephant named Elmer who wanted to paint himself grey. Canyon enjoyed ourselves in the world of stories – Michael Rosen’s “We are Going on Bear Hunt” and David Mckee’s “Elmer”.

We pretended to go through the swishy swashy grass, and the cold river splash splosh. We removed our shoes and stepped into the thick oozy mud. We tip-toed into a dark bear cave and found the bear… a tent and Rilakuma! The story pages were displayed on the wall so Canyon could go bear hunting anytime!

We pretended to be elephants with our long trunks. We painted a big giant Elmer and everyone pitched in to help. Well-done! Someone brought an elephant to class for Show & Tell. We had a real butterfly too. Thank you!

Music Class & Goodbye Song

In music class, Canyon practised rhythms and beats with sticks. In line with our unit, we started singing a new goodbye song about animals. Till next week, take care and have a wonderful weekend!
