As part of the IB Learner Profile, being knowledgeable is one of our goals. To gain knowledge, we need to find out the facts and experience the learning. Canyon has been doing just that! We are learning so much with all our senses. We see, move, and listen to the many different types of transportation. This week, we read a book about wheels, and saw pictures illustrating the different vehicles. We learned the names and the different parts of a vehicle through videos too. That is our research! Best of all, students are in the centre the learning when they bring books and toy vehicles to school for Show and Tell. This is Canyon’s way of being a student-centred IB learning environment. Bravo!

IBの学習者像の一つに、knowledgeable知識のある人、というのがあります。知識のある人になるために、学びの中から経験と結果を得る必要があります。キャニオンさんは、まさに経験からの結果を得ることができています！五感を使用しながらたくさんの事を学んでいます。いろいろなタイプの乗り物を自分の目で見て、触れて動かし、耳で乗り物の音などを聞いています。今週は、タイヤについての本を読み、そしていろいろな種類の乗り物のイラストや写真を見ました。また、ビデオを見て、乗り物についているパーツ名を英語で学びました。これは、キャニオンさん達にとってのリサーチです。何よりも素晴らしいのは、子ども達が本やおもちゃの乗り物を持ってきてShow and Tellをする時、学習の中心に子ども達がいることです。これがキャニオンクラスの子ども中心のIB学習環境を実現する方法です。素晴らしい！

VALENTINE’S DAY – I LOVE YOU!

Canyon sang… H-E-A-R-T means I love you! We made cards for our family because we love you all. Not just any card but a Hot Air Balloon card with lots and lots of Hearts! Yes, we linked that to the unit on Transportation. We practised writing our names on the cards too.

クラスでは、H-E-A-R-Tとバレンタインの歌をみんなで歌い、家族のみんなにバレンタインカードを制作しました。Hot Air Balloonに💛ハートをたくさん載せた、子ども達の愛がたくさん詰まったカードです。そうです！Unitに結び付けて、Hot Air Balloonです！そしてカードに自分の名前も頑張って書きました。

　

OUTDOOR PLAY

We went to the park and played in the schoolyard. We pretended to be diggers, aeroplanes, trains and many more! Looking forward to our Open Day, so till next week, have a fabulous weekend.
