Waterfall class started a new Unit 3: Feelings can be Expressed and Managed in Many Ways! Waterfall students read “The Color Monster” to learn that we have many different feelings!  Waterfall students decided what color different feelings might be, and if the Color Monster was a little happy or very happy.  Later students colored scoops of ice cream with big and small feelings!

Waterfallクラスでは、Unit３「Feelings can be Expressed and Managed in Many Ways」が始まりました！子どもたちは絵本『The Color Monster（カラーモンスター）』を読んで、「私たちにはいろんな気持ちがあるんだね」と学びました。それぞれの気持ちがどんな色かを考えたり、「カラーモンスターはちょっとうれしいのかな？ それともすっごくうれしいのかな！？」と想像したりして、感情を色で表現することを楽しみました。そのあと、「大きな感情」「小さな感情」をアイスクリームに色を塗って表現しました。カラフルで個性いっぱいのアイスクリームがたくさんできましたよ♪

One feeling that Waterfall students were excited about was fear- Oh no!  They saw ghosts in “The Color Monster” and spiders in the garden, how scary!  However, Waterfall students are looking forward to Halloween and painted cute spiders and webs to decorate the classroom!

中でも子どもたちが盛り上がったのは「こわい」という気持ち！
『カラーモンスター』の中に出てくるおばけや、園庭で見つけたクモには「こわい〜！！」とドキドキしてしまう子どもたち。クモは怖いけど、もうすぐ楽しみにしているハロウィンパーティー。みんなでクモやクモの巣をかわいくペイントして、教室をハロウィン風に飾りつけました。

Finally, more Waterfall students were feeling brave and presented their top 4 animals from Sharing the Planet. Every animal now has a home in the sky, on land or in water. The students shared what they know about animal features, like fur, scales or feathers and which of their animals are helping animals.

最後には、ユニット２「Sharing the Planet」で学んだ動物たちの中から、お気に入りの４匹を発表しました。空に住む動物、陸に住む動物、水の中に住む動物——それぞれの特徴を振り返りながら、「毛がある動物」「うろこがある動物」「羽がある動物」など、体のつくりや、動物たちがどう助け合っているかを堂々と紹介してくれました！Well done！
