Greetings, everyone! Welcome to this week’s highlights.
We had our last Open Day of the school year, and it was truly a memorable one. The Rainforest students proudly showed their parents how much they have grown since the beginning of the school year. They confidently demonstrated their learning by saying the months and days of the week in different languages. They also showed their growth in speaking English by presenting their baby pictures in front of everyone. They shared how old they were in the photos, talked about the things they couldn’t do when they were babies, and explained the many things they can do now as growing, independent children.
みなさん、こんにちは！今週のブログへようこそ。
今年度最後のオープンデーを迎え、とても思い出に残る一日となりました。Rainforestクラスの子どもたちは、今年度の初めからどれだけ成長したかを、誇らしげに保護者の皆さんに披露しました。月や曜日を英語だけではなく、日本語やスペイン語でも自信をもって発表し、これまでの学びを堂々と見せてくれました。また、Rainforestさん達が、どれだけ仲が良く、お互いを思いやり、助け合っているかもご覧いただけたかと思います。
ワークステーションの時間には、けん玉、縄跳び、折り紙を友達と楽しんで行っている姿を見てもらい、その後、みんなの前で赤ちゃんの頃の写真を発表するなどして、英語のスピーチ力も披露しました。写真の中で何歳だったのかを伝え、赤ちゃんの頃はできなかったこと、そして今では成長した自立した子どもとしてできるようになったたくさんの事を発表しました。自分の赤ちゃんの頃の写真が出てくると、照れ臭い顔をしながらも、堂々と大きな声で発表することが出来ていました！
You have all come so far, Rainforest! We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. I’m sure your parents felt so happy and proud of your growth—just as we, your teachers, do. Keep believing in yourselves and continue doing great things. This is only the beginning of your amazing journey!
We also had our Tennis Open Day, where the Rainforest class proudly showcased their talents in playing tennis. The students enjoyed every activity and gave their very best in learning and playing the sport. From the very beginning, they have shown great determination to hit the ball properly and score a goal. It was wonderful to see their teamwork and perseverance throughout the event. Great job, everyone!
ここまで本当によく頑張りましたね、Rainforestのみんな！私たちは、一人ひとりの成長を心から誇りに思っています。きっと保護者の皆さまも、子ども達の成長をとても嬉しく、誇らしく感じられたことでしょう。私たち担任も同じ気持ちです。これからも自分を信じて、素晴らしいことにどんどん挑戦していってくださいね。これはまだ、みなさんの素晴らしい旅の始まりにすぎません！
また、テニスオープンデーも行われ、Rainforestさん達は、この一年間練習してきたことを誇らしく披露してくれました。どの活動にも楽しみながら参加し、プレーする中で常にベストを尽くしていました。ボールを上手に打ち、ポイントを取ろうとする強い意欲を見せてくれていました。テニスレッスンの活動を通して見られたチームワークやあきらめない気持ちは本当に素晴らしかったです。
To all the parents, congratulations—we made it this far together! Time flies so fast, doesn’t it? It’s almost the end of the school year. Thank you for your patience, dedication, and constant support in helping your children learn at home. Thank you as well for always showing up and participating in our various school activities. Your partnership, encouragement, and trust mean so much to us. We truly appreciate each and every one of you.

ここまで一緒に歩んでくることができました。本当におめでとうございます！月日の流れはあっという間ですね。いよいよ今年度も終わりが近づいてきました。ご家庭でのお子さまの学びを支えてくださったこと、そして日々の温かいサポートとご理解に心より感謝いたします。また、さまざまなスクールの行事にいつもご参加いただき、本当にありがとうございました。皆さまのご協力、励まし、そして私たちへの信頼は、私たちにとって大きな支えです。お一人おひとりに心から感謝申し上げます。
One of our main events this week was our visit to Tsukama Elementary School, where the Rainforest class had the opportunity to observe a Japanese lesson. The students learned the proper way to present in front of everyone by watching how the elementary students stood nicely, spoke with a clear voice, held their papers properly, and avoided leaning while speaking. They also had the chance to discuss and share what they have learned throughout the school year. During the visit, the students made a craft called Byun Byun Goma and enjoyed asking thoughtful questions such as: “How old were you when you entered elementary school?”, “How old are you now?”, “Why do you have a pool in winter?”, “How do you color neatly on the top?”, and “How do you make a Byun Byun Goma?” It was a meaningful and enriching experience for everyone.
今週は筑摩小学校に訪問し、国語の授業を見学しました。小学生たちがクラスで発表をする練習をしていたのを、Rainforestさん達はよく観察していました。発表する時は、まっすぐ立ち、はっきりとした声で話し、プリントをかっこよく持ち、壁にもたれかからずに発表することが良い方法だと見て学びました。見学中はとても静かに、集中することができ、小学生が言ったこと、先生が言ったこともよく覚えいました！
小学生たちと、「びゅんびゅんゴマ」作りにも挑戦しました。そして、
「小学校に入ったときは何歳でしたか？」
「今は何歳ですか？」
「どうして冬でもプールがあるのですか？」
「どうしたら上手に色をぬれますか？」
「びゅんびゅんゴマはどうやって作るのですか？」など、たくさんの素敵な質問をすることができました。
子どもたちにとって、とても有意義で実りある経験となりました。
