After almost a month of exploring different types of families, the Savanna class has finally moved on to Inquiry II, which focuses on the different roles of family members. Before diving into this new inquiry, our young learners gathered the information they had acquired and participated in an activity where they cut out images of family members. Each student represented their own family on one side and another different type of family on the other. They compared both families, discussing their similarities and differences.

サバンナクラスでは、約1か月間にわたり「様々な家族のかたち」について学んできましたが、いよいよ次の探究テーマである「家族の中での役割」に進みます。

その前に、これまでに学んだことを振り返りとして、イラストを切り抜き２種類の家族を作る活動を行いました。自分の家族と、隣人として異なる形の家族を自分たちで考え表現しました。

子どもたちは、2つの家族を見比べながら、「似ているところ」や「違うところ」について話し合い、それぞれの家族の大切さや多様性に気付くことができました。

Additionally, the entire class explored the terms used for various family members in different languages. We learned what words like “mom” and “dad” are in Filipino, Spanish, and also in Chinese, thanks to Ms. Serena! It was delightful to think of our family members in other languages.

さらに、「家族の呼び方」をいろいろな言語で学びました。「ママ」や「パパ」は、フィリピン語（タガログ語）、スペイン語、そしてMs.Serenaのおかげで中国語での呼び方も知ることができました！

自分の家族を他の言語で呼んでみることはとても楽しく、子どもたちにとって新鮮な発見となりました。

As spring approaches, the Savanna class participated in the campus planting activity. We planted eggplants with the hope of harvesting healthy vegetables in the future for a Guratan Party. We are excited to celebrate together on that day!

春の訪れを感じるこの季節、食育の一環としてサバンナクラスではナスの苗を植えました。みんなで感触を楽しみながら土と堆肥を混ぜ、穴を作り、匂いを嗅いだりじっくり観察してから優しく苗を植えました。そして元気に育ってくれることを願いながら、毎日交代で水やりをしています。ナスが立派に実ったら、ナスを使ったグラタンパーティーも計画しています🍆

みんなで一緒にお祝いできる日を、今からとても楽しみにしています！

As many of us are aware, there have been numerous earthquakes around the world, and we even experienced one in our area recently. To ensure we are prepared and know how to respond, we held an earthquake drill at the park this week. We are incredibly proud of our students; they followed instructions, ducked, covered their heads, and held on without panicking.

ご存じの通り、昨今では世界各地で地震が相次いでいます。私たちの地域でも、最近揺れを感じることがありましたね。そうした状況をふまえ、今週は公園で地震避難訓練を行いました。

子どもたちは先生の指示をよく聞き、頭を守ってしゃがみ、安全な場所へ正しく避難することができました。落ち着いて集まり、静かに先生の話を聞くその姿に、私たちはとても感心し、誇らしく思っています。

After the drill, some expressed that it was scary, but during the drill, everyone remained alert and brave.

訓練の後で「少し怖かった」と話す子もいましたが、訓練中は全員がしっかりと集中し、勇気を持って行動していました。
