First of all, I just wanted to take some time to welcome everyone back to ISN: Gojo! I am a brand new face on campus and I am looking forward to meeting every single one of you! My name is Michelle Pelletier, many of the students know me now as Miss Michelle, the new G5 homeroom teacher. Please allow me to tell you a little about myself. I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I actually arrived in Japan more than two and a half years ago and when I moved I brought along my husband and two daughters. Before I became a homeroom teacher at ISN, I was actually an ALT in Saku, teaching senior high school. I am so excited to work at ISN and even more excited to get to know everyone, from parents, students and staff members.

Moving on to the wonderful world of G.5. Being a HUGE Harry Potter fan, I wanted my first classroom at ISN to be memorable for the students. I spent a lot of time decorating the classroom environment to ensure that there was a kind, warm feeling. I hung up a few fairy lights overhead so the students can feel a sense of calm amongst their learning experiences. The back represents the Hogwarts house colors with a beautiful mixture of IB posters, giving a perfect example of how personality can blend with our schools learning.

The beginning of the school year is more of an opportunity to get to know one another, since we also have a new student in our classroom! Many of the students have spent years together already, but once and awhile, a new student wanders along to join in our classroom community, allowing a more lively and enriching experience to build our social skills!

My hopes for year is to build a stronger sense of community amongst our g.5, to care for and teach the students with as much love and affection as possible and to learn to treat each other with respect, and kindness and to ensure we take responsibility for our actions. I have high expectations for each students and I see so much potential in every single one of them! So please, lets take some time to get to know each other better and treat every experience as an opportunity to learn from one another.
