Shooting Star kicked off the week with loads of fun and excitement, all while keeping safety as our top priority! After experiencing quite a few shakes last week, we started Monday morning with an important Earthquake evacuation drill. Everyone quickly and calmly sheltered in their lockers before safely heading out to the parking lot to review the OHASHIMO safety guidelines together.

Shooting Starクラスは、安全を最優先にしつつ、楽しさとワクワクがいっぱいのスタートを切りました！先週は何度か揺れを感じたこともあり、月曜日の朝はまず、重要な地震の避難訓練を行いました。子供たちは素早く落ち着いてロッカーの中に身を隠し、その後安全に駐車場へ移動して、安全の合言葉「おはしも（押さない・走らない・しゃべらない・戻らない）」をみんなで確認しました。

Following a cloudy weekend with some rain, the sun finally came out to brighten our day! After some dreary day crafts, students eagerly took advantage of the beautiful change of weather by diving into playful water activities outside. They had a blast exploring the water table, splashing in the paddle pool, and running through the sprinklers. It was a refreshing and joyful way to cool off, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone throughout the week.

曇りや雨の週末が明け、ついに太陽が顔を出し、明るい一日になりました！どんよりとした天気の日に楽しむ工作をした後、子供たちは天気の回復を喜び、外での水遊びを思い切り楽しみました。ウォーターテーブルで遊んだり、パドルプールで水しぶきを上げたり、スプリンクラーの中を走り回ったりと大はしゃぎ。涼みながらリフレッシュできる楽しいひとときとなり、一週間を通して子供たちの笑顔と笑い声が絶えませんでした。

For our Unit of Inquiry and the upcoming lessons, the Shooting Star teams played the Crocodile Board game to build their research, communication, and collaboration skills. Each team raced to identify colors, find and record the correct words in the game without getting “eaten” by the crocodile! One team member searched for the answer while the other quickly wrote it down, racing against other teams to win.

探究学習（Unit of Inquiry）や今後のレッスンに向けて、Shooting Starのチームは「ワニのボードゲーム」を行い、リサーチ力、コミュニケーション力、そして協力する力を養いました。各チームは、ワニに「食べられて」しまわないように気をつけながら、色を特定し、正しい単語を見つけて記録する競争をしました！一人が答えを探している間に、もう一人が素早くそれを書き留めるなど、チーム一丸となって勝利を目指しました。

Later, the groups worked together to match different classroom responsibilities, like stacking books and picking up supplies. They then raced to complete short /a/ sound CVC word activities and color pictures. Students took turns or played rock-paper-scissors to decide who would write, color, or gather materials.

その後、グループで協力して、本を積み上げたり用具を片付けたりといった、教室での役割分担の確認を行いました。続いて、短い「a」の音を含むCVC単語（子音・母音・子音の構成の単語）の課題や、塗り絵を完成させる競争をしました。誰が書くか、色を塗るか、用具を集めるかといった役割は、交代で行ったり、じゃんけんで決めたりしました。

Finally, we are sending home Student Portfolios and Tanabata Wish Cards today. Please take some time to look through them, have fun with the activities, and bring everything back to school on Monday.
