Shooting Star practiced collaboration this week. This unit draws to a close, but they continue to grow into their responsible roles as students, classmates, kids and friends. First, they practiced recognizing and writing each other’s names and the dates. They also remembered who takes the bus and who stays for the evening class, then took attendance themselves. Now, each morning the Calendar helper will make sure that everyone is here and accounted for!
シューティングスター組は今週、協力して活動する練習をしました。この単元は終わりに近づいていますが、生徒たちは生徒として、クラスメートとして、子どもとして、そして友達として、責任ある役割を担う力を着実に伸ばしています。まず、お互いの名前と日付を認識し、書く練習をしました。また、誰がバスに乗るのか、誰がイブニングの授業に残るのかを覚え、自分たちで出席確認をしました。今では、毎朝カレンダー係が全員の出席を確認することになっています！
The job description for even more of the classroom helpers is growing! Since their hand-eye coordination is on point, Meal Helpers can now serve plates and hand out bowls as well. Meal Helpers remind their classmates to keep their hands in their laps and sit nicely while the food is being served. This week, our caring and careful helper balanced her plates and responsibilities perfectly just in time for lunch!
教室のお手伝いをする子どもたちの役割もさらに広がっています！手と目の協調性が抜群なので、食事のお手伝いをする子どもたちは、お皿を配ったり、スープボウルを配ったりもできるようになりました。食事のお手伝いをする子どもたちは、食事が配られる間、手を膝の上に置いてきちんと座るようにクラスメートに注意を促します。今週、思いやりがあり、注意深いお手伝いをする子どもたちは、お皿と自分の役割を完璧にバランスよくこなし、ぴったり昼食を食べ始める時間に間に合いました！
Ever a work in progress, the students are coming up with more ways to help out around the house. They have colorful Chore Lists ready to hang on bedroom doors as reminders of jobs to be done, and they even tried matching different tasks to the right rooms, like making the bed in the bedroom or washing dishes in the kitchen.
常に成長を続ける子どもたちは、家の中でのお手伝いの方法をさらにたくさん考え出しています。子どもたちは、寝室のドアに貼ってやるべきことを思い出せるように、カラフルな家事リストを用意していました。ベッドメイキングは寝室、食器洗いは台所など、それぞれの家事を適切な場所に割り当てようと工夫もしていました。
Next, Shooting Star class took risks by helping one another fold the tricky five-point origami stars for the streamer tails they made last week. Listening and speaking clearly was key to supporting classmates and working through challenging tasks. As they decorate for Tanabata is also healthy to communicate with themselves and reflect on what wishes they want send up to their shooting stars in July.
次に、「シューティングスター」クラスでは、先週作ったリボンの飾り付けに使う、難しい五芒星の折り紙に挑戦しました。クラスメートを支え、難しい課題に取り組むには、お互いの話を聞き、はっきりと話すことが鍵でした。七夕の飾り付けをしながら、7月に流れ星にどんな願い事をしたいかを考え、自分自身とコミュニケーションを取ることは、子どもたちにとって大切なことです。
Shooting Star students have learned several short “a” family word endings and are able to think deeply, blend words, and sort them carefully. The students communicated with each other to discuss the words they know and those they have yet to learn. They were happy to discover that they finished their phonics exercise quickly because they worked together!
「シューティング・スター」クラスの生徒たちは、短母音「a」を含む単語の語尾パターンをいくつか学び、深く考えながら単語の音を組み合わせて読んだり、丁寧に分類したりできるようになりました。生徒同士で話し合い、すでに知っている単語やこれから学ぶべき単語について確認し合いました。協力して取り組んだおかげで、フォニックスの課題を素早く終えることができ、みんな嬉しそうでした。
Communication is equally important in Dance Class! Students had to keep each other in the loop and stay on track while skipping a hoop down the line to build strong physical coordination skills. They also learned to work together closely to reach for the stars and their goals, strengthening both teams and individuals.
ダンスクラスでも、コミュニケーションは同様に重要です！生徒たちは、列に並んだフープを飛び越えながら、お互いに状況を把握し、動きを合わせることで、身体の協調性を養いました。また、目標に向かって協力し合うことで、チームとしても個人としても成長していくことを学びました。
