G5- Inquiry Fair Adventures!

The inquiry fair at ISN Gojo campus has come and gone, and it was followed by a lot of reflection time from the G5 students. We spent the entire morning preparing for the parents and preschoolers, we cleaned up the classroom, wiped down the surfaces, removed the trash. I am always happy when G5 are asked to clean up for guests and they take full initiative without teacher direction! They know they want to make a good impression with their guests. It makes my heart quite happy.

For the first round, G5 and the other 2nd floor grades (4, 6 and 7) went to visit Grade 1, 2 and 3. Some guests and students were lucky enough to get prizes from grade 1 but they quickly sold out. We got to hear what Grade 1 was doing in their current UOI. Afterwards, in grade 2, the parents learned what they were doing and finally G3, we got to see the amazing work they did using a pulley and bucket to demonstrate simple machines and force. Afterwards, G5 was rushed to the 2nd floor and got ready for the lovely horde of parents and students.

We created a map to show where we were, Our groups were divided as; solar oven, plastics, windmill, clean water, clean air, wind boats. The students engaged with the audience and I tried my best to direct them to lonely booths. At the end of the fair, we were absolutely exhausted but it felt so good to have done so much work and work in a well-thought out fair!

Now we have summer school coming up and after that, summer holidays! Until next time, looking forward to sharing more adventures,

Ms. Michelle
