Aurora’s Chicken Farm 🐔
This week, we deepened our exploration of animals as Aurora students began taking care of their very own classroom chickens through pretend play. This engaging activity gave the children an opportunity to apply what they have learned about animals and their needs.
The students worked together to make a cozy nest and provided the chickens with the things they need to live. They practiced caring for their animals by feeding them and giving them water. Through this hands-on experience, the children demonstrated their Caring and Knowledgeable qualities as they showed understanding of how people can care for animals.
As we continue to Share the Planet, the students are excited to discover what their hens might give them in return. We are looking forward to seeing where their curiosity and inquiry will take us next!

オーロラの「チキン・ファーム」🐔
今週、オーロラの生徒たちは「ごっこ遊び」を通じて、自分たちのクラスで飼うニワトリのお世話を始め、動物についての学びをさらに深めました。この魅力的な活動は、動物やその生活に必要なものについて学んできたことを、実際に活かす絶好の機会となりました。
生徒たちは協力して居心地の良い巣を作り、ニワトリが生きるために必要なものを用意しました。そして、餌や水を与えることで、動物のお世話をする実践的な練習を行いました。こうした体験を通じ、生徒たちは「思いやり（Caring）」と「知識（Knowledgeable）」を発揮し、人がどのように動物を大切にできるかという理解を示してくれました。
「地球を共有する（Sharing the Planet）」という探究テーマを続ける中で、生徒たちはニワトリがどんな「お返し」をしてくれるのか、ワクワクしながら楽しみにしています。彼らの好奇心や探究心が、次は私たちをどんな発見へと導いてくれるのか、とても楽しみです！

Some friends enjoyed picking our ripe red tomatoes from the garden. 🍅🌱 After harvesting them, we shared the tomatoes with everyone and took a few home to enjoy. It was a lovely hands-on experience that helped the children appreciate the fruits of their care and hard work!
庭で真っ赤に熟したトマトの収穫を楽しみました。🍅🌱 収穫したトマトはみんなで分け合い、自宅に持ち帰って味わいました。自分たちのお世話や頑張りが実を結んだことを実感できる、素敵な体験となりました！
After that, we watched a virtual video showing how a cow gives birth to a calf. 🐄🐮 The students watched with curiosity and excitement as they observed the calf being born and learned that baby cows are called calves. This helped deepen their understanding of how animals have babies and encouraged them to make connections with what they had learned.
その後、牛が子牛を産む様子を収めた動画をみんなで見ました。🐄🐮 子牛が生まれる瞬間を目の当たりにし、牛の赤ちゃんは「子牛（calf）」と呼ばれることを知った子供たちは、興味津々で、ワクワクした様子で見入っていました。この体験は、動物がどのように命を授かるかについての理解を深め、これまでに学んだ知識と新しい情報を結びつける良いきっかけとなりました。
