This week, the children enjoyed a hands-on learning experience exploring where some of the dairy products we enjoy every day come from.
今週は、私たちが日頃楽しんでいる乳製品がどこから来るのかを、実際に体験しながら楽しく学びました。
The children, who have already watched a video on where milk comes from, had the opportunity to experience cow milking for themselves from the set up of the Chushin Livestock and Diary Center at school. Under the close supervision and guidance of their teachers and the personnel, each child took a turn gently pressing the teat of a dummy cow, allowing them to see how milk is collected.
牛乳がどこから来るのかを動画で学んだ子どもたちは、今回、スクールに設置された中信畜産酪農センターの体験用模型を使って、実際に搾乳を体験しました。先生や職員の方に見守られながら、一人ひとりが順番に模型の乳房をやさしく握り、牛乳が搾られる様子を体験しました。
As they waited for their turn, a bottle of milk was passed around to be shaken. After the bottle completely went around three times, they saw a very thick substance forming on its surface. This substance was sieved. They were amazed and excited to discover this was butter and that milk can be used to make it. Each each had a box of milk for the savour for snack.
順番を待っている間には、みんなで牛乳の入ったペットボトルを順番に振る体験もしました。ペットボトルが3周する頃には、表面にとても濃いものができていることに気づきました。それをこしてみると、なんとバターに変身！子どもたちは、「牛乳からバターができるんだ！」と驚き、大喜びでした。最後には、一人ひとり牛乳を1パックずついただき、スナックタイムにおいしく味わいました。
The experience provided a wonderful opportunity for the children to connect what they see in shops and at home with where these foods actually come from. They kept discussing the experience among themselves and the observations they made asking where the eyes of the cow were. It was such a memorable experience.
今回の体験は、普段お店や家庭で目にしている乳製品が、実際にどこから来ているのかを結びつけて考える素晴らしい機会となりました。体験後も、子どもたちは「牛の目はどこにあるの？」など、体験を通して気づいたことや感じたことを友だち同士で楽しそうに話していました。実際に見て、触れて、体験したことで、子どもたちにとってとても印象に残る学びの時間となりました。
Playing with mud have been prevalent this week. The children, knowing what was expected of them, wasted no time getting ready. This time, some served pretend food. We heard voices such as “Look, curry and rice”, this is miso soup, coffee shop, ramen and chocolate cake. They shared the play things carefully and resolved one misunderstanding that arose about sharing a scoop of mud. Seeing them interact this way makes it clear how well they are improving upon their social skills.
今週は、泥遊びが大人気でした。子どもたちは、何をするのかをよく理解していたので、準備をするとすぐに泥遊びを始めました。今回は、泥を使って食べ物に見立てた料理を作り、お店屋さんごっこを楽しむ姿も見られました。「見て、カレーライス！」「これはお味噌汁」「コーヒーショップ」「ラーメン」「チョコレートケーキ！」など、楽しそうな声が聞こえてきました。遊びに使う道具も仲良く譲り合いながら使い、泥をすくうスコップの貸し借りをめぐってちょっとした行き違いがあった際にも、話し合って解決することができました。このように友だちと関わりながら遊ぶ姿から、子どもたちのソーシャルスキルが着実に育っていることを感じます。
We headed to the gym to practise our song, dance, movements, races and script for the Sports Festival in September. They had already started rehearsing this in the classroom but they did one at the gym to have some clarity of how the activities will run on that day. The children worked hard to learn where to stand, how to move, and when to perform each part.
Everyone had lots of fun, with plenty of smiles and giggles throughout the rehearsal. Although some were a little tired afterwards, they did their very best. We rest assured that they will become even more confident and familiar with the routines before the big day!
9月のスポーツフェスティバルに向けて、体育館で歌やダンス、動き、競技、そしてスクリプトの練習を行いました。これまでも教室で練習を重ねてきましたが、当日の流れをより具体的にイメージできるよう、今回は実際に体育館で通して練習しました。子どもたちは、どこに立つのか、どのように動くのか、どのタイミングでそれぞれの動きをするのかを一生懸命覚えました。練習中は、たくさんの笑顔や笑い声が見られ、みんな楽しみながら取り組んでいました。練習後には少し疲れた様子もありましたが、最後まで一人ひとりが精一杯頑張りました。本番に向けて、これからさらに練習を重ねる中で、少しずつ自信を持ち、動きにも慣れていくことでしょう。スポーツフェスティバル当日が今から楽しみです！
The songs we have been singing during our music lessons came to a close this week, and we are excited anticipating some new ones! The learners sat in two rows, creating enough space to use their wooden sticks safely. They practiced the different timings, the teacher had demonstrated to them, for tapping the sticks on the floor to create particular rhythms. They enjoyed practising along and keeping the beat. There were moments when some of the children lost the timing but with some slight support they were back on track.
今週で、これまで音楽の時間に歌ってきた歌がひと区切りとなり、子どもたちは新しい歌が始まることを楽しみにしています！この日は、子どもたちは2列に座り、木製のスティックを安全に使えるよう、十分な間隔をとって活動しました。先生が見本を見せたさまざまなタイミングに合わせて、スティックを床に打ち、決められたリズムを作る練習をしました。音楽に合わせてリズムを刻み、みんなでビートを感じながら楽しく練習することができました。途中でタイミングがずれてしまう場面もありましたが、先生が少しサポートすると、すぐにリズムを取り戻すことができました。
The learners also explored rhythm using their feet. Depending on the musical note shown on their cards, they created different rhythms by tapping or moving their feet accordingly. It was a fun and engaging way for them to develop their sense of timing, rhythm and musical awareness.

子どもたちは、足を使ってリズムを表現する活動にも取り組みました。カードに示された音符を見ながら、それぞれの音符に合わせて足を踏み鳴らしたり、動かしたりして、さまざまなリズムを作りました。楽しみながらリズムやタイミングを身につけ、音楽への感覚を育むことができる、楽しく充実した活動となりました。来週も、子どもたちの新たな発見や楽しい学びの時間が待っています！
