Hello Everyone!
A big thank you to all the families who joined us for our School Open Day this week. We truly enjoyed meeting you and sharing a little glimpse into life at our preschool and our class.
We want to especially extend our heartfelt gratitude to our guest speaker who shared some interesting information about beetles. Through this collaboration we were able to enrich the children’s learning of our UOI-Unit 2 : Animals have needs and are connected to people in many ways.
Everyone in the class were so excited to learn about the different kinds of beetles, the life span of the beetles , how to take care of the beetles and other interesting facts there is to know about the beetles. But most of all, they were very amazed and ecstatic to see the beetles in real life.
In class, we also got to see a live butterfly, we were able to observe its transformation and we learned about its life cycle. Everyone was amazed to see the caterpillar, its cocoon, and how it transitioned into a butterfly after.
Among all the different kinds of animals in our UOI- Unit 2 learning journey, Aurora kids are particularly focused and curious about the insects and the bugs. They are so fascinated about these tiny creatures, the ants, spiders, beetles, butterflies, dragonflies, lady bugs and more. The kids find these tiny species very interesting because we often encounter them up close during our park visits. We see them everywhere and everyone thinks they’re cool and weird at the same time. It’s great to be able to inquire, study and observe them, to have an awareness of how to take care of them, how to keep them safe and be safe from them too. Learning about these creatures makes Aurora kids become more mindful, aware and caring of other living things, big or small. Even at a young age they now know how to be responsible with their pets or with animals in general.
Another supposedly highlight of this week was our Bus trip to Joyama Zoo. But due to unfortunate circumstances, a lot of kids in our class got sick and due to bad weather, we had to cancel. We are sorry for the change of plans and we appreciate your understanding and support. We are planning to reschedule our bus trip. We will inform you of the dates. Thank you for your patience.
Have a restful weekend. Thank you for reading this weeks update.
(Get well soon to our friends who got sick. Take a good rest. Take care from you HRT teachers)

Classroom Fun (workstation, free play and phonics)

Our Aurora friends wearing their raincoats in the classroom ready for the bus trip. I felt sad to break the news to them that our trip to the zoo was cancelled. I told them that the monkeys might not show up and they are sleeping on this rainy day. Thankfully they were very understanding. We had fun and took photos instead.
