These are our big feelings for the upcoming Halloween Party – feeling good, and excited! Perfect for the new unit – expressing how we feel. We worked on our grammar too as we expressed our feelings in a sentence. “I am excited” or “You are happy.” We tried reading by blending letter sounds such as in the word “a…m” as in “Sam I am” – in the book Green Eggs and Ham. The class loved the funny story and rhyming words. Below are some of the books we will be reading for the unit.
We have been practising blending letter sounds to read words and sentences with /a/ vowel – am, at, an. For example, ant, ham, Sam, I am. We read RAZ books with our shoulder partners – pointed to the words and used the pictures as clues too. This is a ham. This is an ant. Good effort Savanna!
During our weekly walk, we visited the shrine behind the school. We found chestnuts and cut them up to find what was inside the spiky fruits.
Saving the best for last HALLOWEEN PARTY!! We had such an awesome time. The costumes, smiles, and laughter were fantastic! Thank you all for your fabulous sense of fun and good spirit. Till next week, have a lovely weekend!
