Recycling Bin Presentations
This week was an exciting one for our UOI! After spending several weeks learning about the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), the students had the opportunity to share their knowledge with others. In the morning, we practiced our presentations and reviewed the key points we wanted to teach.
The students then visited the Rainbow and Shooting Star classes to introduce our recycling bins and explain how to use them. They used simple sentences such as “This is a recycling bin” and “This is for paper” to share their learning. The students showed the learner profile attributes of Communicators, Knowledgeable, and Risk-takers as they confidently spoke in front of other classes and answered questions about the 3Rs. We were very proud of how clearly and confidently they shared their ideas.
今週のUOIでは、これまで学んできた３R（Reduce・Reuse・Recycle）について、他のクラスに発表する機会がありました。朝に発表の練習を行い、伝えたい内容をみんなで確認しました。
その後、RainbowクラスとShooting Starクラスを訪問し、自分たちで作ったリサイクルボックスの使い方を説明しました。「This is a recycling bin.」「This is for paper.」などの表現を使いながら、自分たちの学びを共有しました。
子どもたちは、学習者像の「コミュニケーションができる人」「知識のある人」「挑戦する人」を発揮し、自信を持って発表することができました。とても素晴らしい姿を見ることができました。
Gallery Walk Reflection
After the presentations, we held a gallery walk, during which the students had the chance to view each team’s recycling bins and posters. As they walked around the room, they discussed what they noticed and reflected on what they had learned about the 3Rs.
The gallery walk gave students an opportunity to learn from each other and celebrate their hard work. They enjoyed seeing the different ideas each team included and were able to explain why certain materials belong in different recycling bins.
発表の後には、ギャラリーウォークを行いました。子どもたちは各チームが作ったリサイクルボックスやポスターを見て回りながら、学んだことを振り返りました。
それぞれの作品の工夫を見つけたり、「なぜこのゴミはここに入れるのかな？」と考えたりしながら、お互いの学びから新しい発見をしていました。自分たちの頑張りを共有し、達成感を感じられる時間となりました。
Enjoying the Outdoors
We made the most of the warm spring weather this week by spending plenty of time outdoors. The students joined Shooting Star for a trip to the park, where they enjoyed playing together and exploring. We made sure to take regular water breaks and stay cool throughout the day.
Many students have become much more confident using the swings independently and enjoyed challenging themselves to swing higher and higher. Back at school, we also spent time playing in the school yard with our friends. As temperatures continued to rise, we had lots of fun cooling off while the teachers splashed us with water. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and happy squeals as everyone enjoyed the refreshing water on a hot day.
今週は暖かい春の天気を楽しみながら、たくさん戸外で活動しました。Shooting Starクラスのお友だちと一緒に公園へ行き、遊んだり探検したりしながら楽しい時間を過ごしました。活動中はこまめに水分補給を行いながら、安全に過ごしています。
ブランコも上手に使えるようになり、自分でこいで高くまで進める子が増えてきました。また、園庭でもたくさん遊びました。気温が高くなってきたため、先生たちが水をかけてくれて、みんなで楽しく涼みました。子どもたちの笑顔と楽しそうな声がたくさん聞こえる、とても楽しい時間となりました。
Our 3R Song
