This week was filled with exciting learning experiences, opportunities to challenge ourselves, and moments of creativity. The children showed confidence, teamwork, and curiosity as they explored new ideas both inside and outside the classroom.
As part of our Unit of Inquiry, we began exploring roles and responsibilities within our school community. The children learned about the different people who help make our school a happy, safe, and successful place to learn. Through discussions, photo activities, group work, and games, they thought carefully about the responsibilities of various staff members and how people contribute when working as part of a group. One of their favorite activities was playing the “Who Am I?” game, where they used clues to identify different members of the school community. The children enjoyed sharing ideas with their friends and were thrilled each time they guessed correctly, often jumping for joy to celebrate their success.

Our phonics lessons were full of energy and fun as we began practicing reading CVC words. This week, we focused on the -ag word family and read words such as wag, rag, nag, bag, and tag. The children clapped and jumped as they read, making the learning experience active and engaging. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they recognized and read new words independently.

The children also had a fantastic time during mud play. Using their imaginations, they created a variety of pretend foods and drinks, including mud pies, mud cakes, mud soup, coffee, and juice. This hands-on experience encouraged creativity, cooperation, and exploration as they worked together to bring their imaginative ideas to life.

Another special highlight of the week was preparing for Family Day. The children created beautiful gifts using coffee filters and paint. They carefully folded the filters and watched with excitement as the colors slowly spread across the paper, creating unique patterns. Their eyes lit up with wonder as they observed the transformation. To make their gifts even more meaningful, they also wrote special messages for their families, putting great thought and care into their work. They are looking forward to sharing these heartfelt creations with their loved ones.

Throughout the week, the children demonstrated a willingness to try new things, support one another, and approach each experience with enthusiasm. We are proud of their growing confidence, creativity, and ability to work together as a team. We look forward to many more exciting learning adventures in the weeks ahead!
