Hello everyone! We have began our week off on a good, and busy note. We have been preparing for Global Voices, and the students who will be delivering their speech have been chosen. The students also had a mini-exchange with the grade 6 class where they played some games such as a drawing game and treasure hunt around the school. We also had our RAZ benchmark tests this week, and the students have been really excited and ready for these tests.

The students had some fun games and interactions with the grade 6 students. The grade 6 students were quite nice to take time to prepare for a drawing game and treasure hunt around campus. This is great for the school as this builds and strengthens relationships between students of different grades.

This week we made use of a freestanding boxing target with a reflex bar. This was a nice way for grade 1 to get into combat sports and experience how it may be like to participate in combat sports.

Last week we chose some instruments that we will be using during our music concert. The students had the opportunity to choose which instruments they would like to use during the concert. The students used communication-skills, thinking-skills and social-skills with this, and they continued to also practice for their music performances.

We also had a a visit from the police department and we had a class about bullying, and this was key for us in order to see some of the things that we can take, and these are vital life lessons that we’ll use forever! The students were able to understand the lesson, and we were able to reflect and talk about these things in our class.

We also had our Halloween School Day, and it was a doozy!! 2 of our students won in the category of best costumes at ISN, and that was such a highlight for us! The students looked so awesome and I think they all outdid themselves with the creative costumes. We also went trick or treating around the school and that was such a fun experience.
The Global Voices contest was amazing and they grade 1 students outdid themselves with their speech presentations. It was wonderful to hear the speeches about the teachers and about the student’s families and how much they appreciate the people around them. I hope that you enjoy the rest of the week, and stay warm as the temperatures continue to drop. Take care, adios!
