Hello, families! Our little explorers have been busy discovering the tiny world around us!
As part of our Unit of Inquiry on small creatures, the students participated in a “Help or Hurt” cut-and-paste activity. They looked at different pictures showing actions toward small creatures and decided whether each action would help or hurt them. The students then cut and pasted the pictures into the appropriate categories. Through this activity, the students demonstrated care and respect for small creatures by identifying actions that help protect them and understanding how their choices can affect living things.
こんにちは！今週も身近な小さな世界を探検するのに大忙しのShootingさんたちでした！UOI「小さな生き物」の探究では、「Help or Hurt（助ける？傷つける？）」というアクティビティに取り組みました🐞🌿小さな生き物に対するさまざまな行動の写真を見ながら、「これは生き物を助けるかな？それとも傷つけてしまうかな？」とみんなで考えました。子どもたちは一つひとつの写真をよく見て、自分の考えを持ちながら、「Help」と「Hurt」のグループに分けて、切って貼っていきました✂️😊「逃がしてあげるのはHelp！」「踏んだらHurtだね！」など、これまでの学びや経験をもとに、それぞれの意見を聞かせてくれました。
この活動を通して、小さな生き物を大切にする気持ちや、自分たちの行動が生き物にどんな影響を与えるのかについて考えることができました✨
The students participated in a Show and Tell activity and had opportunities to explore small creatures through hands-on experiences. They showed curiosity by observing small creatures they found during outside play and carefully exploring their movements. The students were especially interested in placing a roly-poly into a handmade maze and watching how it moved through the maze. Through these experiences, the students demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm as they observed, explored, and shared their discoveries about small creatures.
Show and Tellでは、お家で飼っている生き物や家の周り、公園で見つけた生き物たちをお友達に紹介し、みんなで観察しました。外遊びの時間には、畑で見つけた小さな生き物をじっくり観察し、「どんなふうに動くのかな？」と興味を持って、その動きをよく見ていました。特に子どもたちが夢中になっていたのは、手作りの迷路にダンゴムシを入れて、どのように進んでいくのかを観察する活動です🐌🌀 「こっちに進んだ！」「止まったよ！」など、ダンゴムシの動きを楽しみながら、発見を共有する姿が見られました😊こうした体験を通して、小さな生き物への興味や好奇心を深めながら、観察したり、実際に触れて探究したり、自分の発見を友だちと共有したりすることを楽しみました🌿✨
As part of our preparation for the Sports Festival, the students enjoyed creating their own astronaut crafts. They used their creativity and imagination to decorate and personalize their astronauts, making each one unique. Through this hands-on activity, the students had fun expressing their ideas while getting excited for the upcoming Sports Festival!
スポーツフェスティバルに向けて、今回は自分だけの宇宙飛行士作りを楽しみました🚀✨手先を使う工程も、みんなだんだん上手になってきました☆色やデザインにも一人ひとりの個性が表れていて、どれも素敵な作品に仕上がりました😊実際に手を動かして作ることを楽しみながら、自分のアイデアを表現し、これから始まるスポーツフェスティバルへの期待もどんどん高まっています！🌟🚀
