During free play and workstation time, our students enjoyed creating small creatures using play dough and origami paper. As part of our current Unit of Inquiry on small creatures, this open-ended activity encouraged them to apply what they have been learning in a fun and meaningful way. It was wonderful to see their creativity, imagination, and growing understanding of different small creatures come to life through play. Moments like these show that children learn best when they are actively engaged, exploring, creating, and enjoying the learning process.
こんにちは！今週のShooting Starクラスの様子をお届けします。自由遊びやワークステーションの時間には、粘土や折り紙を使って、小さな生き物づくりを楽しみました🐞🦋🐌
今探究している小さな生き物にちなんで「てんとう虫を作ろう！」「ちょうちょにしてみよう！」と、一人ひとりが自由な発想で取り組んでいました😊粘土では、パーツをいくつもつなげて形を作ったり、折り紙で羽や体を作ったりと、それぞれのアイデアを形にしながら、楽しそうに制作していました。出来上がった作品を嬉しそうに見せ合う姿もたくさん見られました！遊びの中で学びを生かし、自分なりに表現する姿から、子どもたちの探究が少しずつ深まっていることを感じます。これからも、「遊び」と「学び」をつなげながら、子どもたちの「やってみたい！」を大切にしていきたいと思います🌿💚
We wrapped up our Open Day with a fun and meaningful family activity. The students and their parents enjoyed sharing snacks together before working side by side to create the students’ costumes for our upcoming Sports Festival. Together, they made tie-dye T-shirts by choosing their preferred designs, wetting the shirts, and carefully folding them according to the patterns they wanted to create. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to bond while preparing something special for the event. We are excited to see the finished T-shirts and can’t wait for the students to proudly wear their unique creations during their Sports Festival performance.
Open Dayでは、親子で楽しい時間を過ごしました😊まずはおやつを食べながらほっとひと息♪ 親子で和やかな時間を楽しんだ後は、スポーツフェスティバルで着用するTシャツ作りに取り組みました👕✨子どもたちは、おうちの方と一緒に「どんな模様にしようかな？」と相談しながら、Tシャツを濡らして折りたたみ、自分の好きなデザインを選んで、折り方の見本を見ながら折りたたみ、輪ゴムで留める過程を行いました。親子で協力しながら世界に一つだけのTシャツを作る、とても素敵な時間となりました😊
The next day, the excitement continued as the children worked on their tie-dye T-shirts. They carefully applied the tie-dye colors in their preferred order, making each shirt unique and full of personality. The students were excited to watch their designs come to life, and the activity encouraged creativity, independence, and self-expression. We can’t wait to reveal the beautiful results once the shirts are washed and ready to wear!
翌日、いよいよ色付けの作業を行いました🎨👕子どもたちは、「この色にしよう！」「次はこれ！」と好きな色を選びながら、一つひとつ丁寧に染料をかけていきました😊どんな模様になるのか想像しながら、世界に一枚だけのオリジナルTシャツ作りを楽しむ姿がたくさん見られました。自分で色の組み合わせを考えたり、順番を工夫したりする中で、創造力や表現する楽しさも育まれています✨Tシャツを洗って広げたときに、どんな素敵な模様が現れるのか、子どもたちも私たちも今からとても楽しみにしています♪ スポーツフェスティバルで、この特別なTシャツを着て活躍する姿が待ち遠しいです！🌈👕
