It was another fun-filled and busy week for the Rainforest Class!
レインフォレストクラスは、今週も楽しい活動が盛りだくさんの、充実した一週間を過ごしました。
This week, we were delighted to welcome our lovely parents into the classroom as we celebrated our learning journey together. Our little inquirers proudly showcased their growing English skills by participating in a question-and-answer activity. The children selected question cards, read the questions independently, and answered them on their own. It was wonderful to see their confidence and progress. In Savanna Class, many of these questions would have been read aloud to them, but now they are taking the next step by reading and responding independently.
今週は、保護者の皆さまを教室にお迎えし、子どもたちの学びの歩みを一緒にお祝いすることができ、とてもうれしく思いました。
子どもたちは、質問と回答のアクティビティに参加し、成長した英語力を誇らしげに披露してくれました。自分で質問カードを選び、質問を読み、自分の力で答えることができました。その姿からは、自信と大きな成長が感じられ、とても頼もしく思いました。
サバンナクラスでは、多くの質問を先生が読み上げていましたが、今では子どもたち自身が質問を読み、答えるという次のステップへと進んでいます。子どもたちの着実な成長を感じられる、素晴らしい機会となりました。
We were also fortunate to have guest speakers from the City Hall visit our class to talk about the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. The children enjoyed learning about environmental responsibility in Japanese and were eager to listen and participate. After the presentation, they demonstrated their research and communication skills by asking thoughtful questions, showing the curiosity and inquiry mindset of true IB learners.
To deepen their understanding, the children immediately put their learning into action. They selected various items from a treasure box and decided whether each item could be reduced, reused, or recycled. One by one, they shared their ideas and explained their reasoning in front of the class. Their responses clearly demonstrated conceptual understanding and showed that they were able to connect what they had learned to real-life situations.
また、市役所からゲストスピーカーをお迎えし、「3R（Reduce、Reuse、Recycle）」についてお話をしていただく貴重な機会にも恵まれました。子どもたちは日本語で環境への責任について学ぶことを楽しみ、熱心に話を聞きながら積極的に参加していました。
お話の後には、リサーチ力やコミュニケーション力を発揮し、よく考えられた質問をたくさんしていましたね。その姿からは、真のIB学習者らしい好奇心と探究心が感じられました。
さらに理解を深めるために、子どもたちは学んだことをすぐに実践に移しました。宝箱の中からさまざまな物を選び、それぞれが「Reduce（減らす）」「Reuse（再利用する）」「Recycle（リサイクルする）」のどれに当てはまるかを考えました。そして、一人ひとりがクラスの前で自分の考えを発表し、その理由も説明しました。
子どもたちの発表からは、概念的な理解がしっかりと身についていることが伝わり、学んだことを実生活の場面と結び付けて考える力が育っていることがよく分かりました。
We are proud of how the Rainforest Class continues to grow as confident communicators, knowledgeable thinkers, and caring members of our community.
レインフォレストクラスの子どもたちは、自信をもってコミュニケーションをとり、豊かな知識を活かして考え、思いやりをもって周囲と関わるコミュニティの一員として、日々成長を続けています。私たちは、そのような子どもたちの姿をとても誇りに思っています。
The Rainforest Class has also been busy practicing the pianica. For some of the children, this is their first time learning how to play the instrument, but they have shown great courage and determination as risk-takers by trying their best and not giving up when faced with challenges. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow with each practice session.
We will continue practicing both singing and playing the pianica over the coming months and look forward to showcasing our progress at the Winter Show in December.
また、レインフォレストクラスではピアニカの練習にも熱心に取り組んでいます。初めてピアニカを演奏する子もいますが、困難に直面してもあきらめずに挑戦し続ける「リスクテイカー」としての勇気と粘り強さを発揮しています。練習を重ねるごとに自信をつけていく子どもたちの姿を見ることができ、とてもうれしく思います。
これから数か月にわたり、歌とピアニカの両方の練習を続けていく予定です。そして、12月に開催されるウィンターショーで、これまでの成長と成果を皆さまにお披露目できることを楽しみにしています。
We wrapped up the week with an exciting playdate with the Milky Way Class from Minami Campus and the G1 and G2 students from Gojo Campus.
The children participated in a variety of fun and engaging activities, including a challenging scavenger hunt, charades, and alphabet matching. These activities were enjoyed by everyone and provided wonderful opportunities for collaboration and teamwork.
今週の締めくくりとして、南松本キャンパスのミルキーウェイクラスと五常キャンパスの１，２年生の児童たちとの楽しい交流会（プレイデート）を行いました。
子どもたちは、少し難しい宝探しゲーム（スカベンジャーハント）やジェスチャーゲーム、アルファベットマッチングなど、さまざまな楽しいアクティビティに参加しました。どの活動も子どもたちに大人気で、協力し合いながら取り組む素晴らしい機会となりました。
異なるクラスや学年の友達と交流する中で、コミュニケーション力やチームワークを育みながら、楽しく充実した時間を過ごすことができました。
One of the most popular activities was the clean-up experience. Our preschoolers had the chance to experience a small part of elementary school life and practice taking responsibility for their environment. It was a meaningful learning experience that many of the children thoroughly enjoyed.
特に人気が高かった活動の一つは、掃除体験でした。子どもたちは、小学校生活の一部を体験し、自分たちの環境に責任をもって関わることを学ぶ機会を得ました。多くの子どもたちが心から楽しみながら取り組み、とても意義のある学びの時間となりました。
The playdate was both memorable and rewarding. Throughout the day, the children practiced their communication skills by interacting with new friends, sharing ideas, asking questions, and working together to complete activities. It was wonderful to see them grow as confident communicators and caring members of a larger learning community.
このプレイデートは、思い出に残るとともに実りの多い時間となりました。一日を通して、子どもたちは新しい友達と交流し、考えを共有したり、質問をしたり、協力して活動を完成させたりしながら、コミュニケーション力を育みました。
より大きな学びのコミュニティの中で、自信をもってコミュニケーションをとり、思いやりをもって関わる子どもたちの成長の姿を見ることができ、とても嬉しく思います。
