Our little inquirers in the Rainforest class have been very active and busy lately, focusing on their performance for the upcoming concert in March. Each group member is working hard to master their designated instrument. The music teacher is thrilled with everyone’s efforts, and they can all play their parts beautifully. We can’t wait to showcase our talents to our dear parents!
In Unit of Inquiry (UOI), we have started exploring our second line of inquiry, which revolves around the topic of “How People Grow and Change”. To visualize this, each student brought in their baby pictures and created a self-map trifold. They compared their past and present selves by asking questions like: “What has changed about me? What things could I not do before, and what can I do now?” The students took time to observe their own pictures and then shared their findings with their classmates.
Additionally, this week, they practiced interviewing one another. Each student chose a friend and asked several questions about their favorite colors, foods, and activities. This exercise is a way for them to prepare for interviewing people to gather information for their research. It has been a wonderful week for the Rainforest class!
Next week will be even busier, as we will collaborate with other schools to see how they grow and change as elementary students. We are all excited about this opportunity!
Have a lovely weekend!
