One of the things we have been studying a lot about this year in G2 is “community.” It is also a heavy focus of ISN in general, where we wish to work closely with the community around us and take advantage of our unique location and setup.
Likewise, ISN provides its students the opportunity to work with the community and try experiences that they may not be exposed to otherwise.
One such experience is that of rice planting. And what naturally follows after that? Harvesting!

Students get the chance to see their efforts result in a touch-able, tangible benefit to their community.

But this is actually step two of this learning experience! Those of you who were with us last year might remember what comes next. The students learned how the rice is planted, and helped plant their own. Here, the students learned how that rice is harvested, and helped out with that as well.
So what happens to the rice after harvesting? We eat it, of course! And as this rice is for mochi, be sure to check in with us in January to see the results of everybody’s hard work!
Have a great week everybody, and G2 and I will be checking in with you again soon!
