）This week, we are celebrating the Father’s Day. Our students created a special necktie craft for their wonderful dads! The children enjoyed designing their own unique ties using colorful decorative tape and bright circle stickers. Each tie was filled with creativity, making every gift one of a kind.
The children were very excited to bring their handmade gifts home. They couldn’t wait to surprise their dads and say, “Thank you!” for all the love, care, and special moments they share together.
We hope all of our dads had a wonderful Father’s Day and enjoyed receiving these heartfelt gifts. Thank you for everything you do to support and care for your children. Happy Father’s Day!
今週は父の日をお祝いしました。生徒たちは、お父さんたちのために特別なネクタイを作りました！子どもたちは、カラフルなデコレーションテープや明るい丸いシールを使って、自分だけのオリジナルネクタイをデザインするのを楽しみました。どのネクタイも創造性にあふれ、世界に一つだけの贈り物となりました。
子どもたちは手作りのプレゼントを家に持ち帰るのをとても楽しみにしていました。お父さんたちを驚かせ、「ありがとう！」と伝え、日頃の愛情や思いやり、そして一緒に過ごす特別な時間への感謝の気持ちを伝えるのが待ちきれませんでした。
すべてのお父さんが素敵な父の日を過ごし、心のこもったプレゼントを喜んでいただけたことを願っています。子どもたちを支え、大切に育ててくださるお父さんたち、本当にありがとうございます。父の日おめでとうございます！
Earthquake Safety practice in the Park （公園で避難訓練）
This week, we also practiced our earthquake safety drill while playing at the park. To make the drill as realistic as possible, the teacher suddenly played the earthquake alarm while the children were enjoying their playtime.
As soon as they heard the alarm and the teacher called out, “Earthquake!”, the children immediately stopped playing and gathered at the center of the park. They stayed calm, quickly dropped to the ground, and covered their heads to protect themselves.
After the drill, we reviewed the important safety rules to follow during an earthquake. The children did a wonderful job recalling what they had learned from our previous drills. They confidently remembered the emergency safety phrase, “O-Ha-Shi-Mo,” and explained what it means:
- O – Don’t push (Osanai)
- Ha – Don’t run (Hashiranai)
- Shi – Don’t talk (Shaberanai)
- Mo – Don’t go back (Modoranai)
We are proud of how seriously the children participated and how well they remembered the safety procedures. Practicing these drills regularly helps them build confidence and prepares them to respond calmly and safely in an emergency.
今週は、公園で遊びながら地震を想定した避難訓練も行いました。訓練をできるだけリアルにするため、子どもたちが遊んでいる最中に、先生が突然地震警報器を鳴らしました。警報が鳴り、先生が「地震だ！」と叫ぶと、子どもたちはすぐに遊びを止め、公園の中央に集まりました。落ち着いて、素早く地面に伏せ、頭を覆って身を守りました。訓練の後、地震発生時の重要な安全対策を復習しました。子どもたちは、以前の訓練で学んだことをよく覚えていて、とてもよくできました。「お・は・し・も」という緊急時の合言葉を自信を持って覚えていて、その意味も説明してくれました。

子どもたちが真剣に取り組み、安全な手順をしっかりと覚えていたことを誇りに思います。こうした訓練を定期的に行うことで、子どもたちは自信をつけ、緊急時に冷静かつ安全に対応できるようになります。
Our First Cutting activity（初めてのハサミ）
Before the students began their first cutting activity, we introduced them to the safe and proper way to use scissors. We discussed important safety rules, such as always holding the scissors with the blades pointing down when walking, using scissors only while sitting at the table, keeping fingers away from the blades, and passing scissors safely by holding the closed blades and offering the handles to a friend or teacher. We also demonstrated the correct way to hold the scissors, with their thumb in the small hole and their middle finger in the larger hole while using their index finger to help guide and control the scissors.
After the demonstration, each student received a sheet of paper with a straight line to practice cutting. We were impressed with how well they listened to the instructions and tried their best. Most of the children were able to grip the scissors correctly and carefully cut along the line. They were excited and proud of their work, making their first scissors activity both a fun and successful learning experience! ✂️😊
初めてハサミを使う活動を始める前に、安全で正しいハサミの使い方を話しました。歩くときは必ず刃先を下に向けてハサミを持つこと、テーブルに座っているときだけハサミを使うこと、指を刃に近づけないこと、ハサミを渡すときは刃を閉じた状態で持ち手側を友達や先生に渡すことなど、重要な安全ルールについて説明しました。また、親指を小さな穴に、中指を大きな穴に入れ、人差し指でハサミをガイドしてコントロールするという正しい持ち方も実演しました。
実演の後、生徒一人ひとりに直線が引かれた紙を配り、ハサミの練習をさせました。生徒たちが指示をよく聞き、一生懸命に取り組んでいたことに感心しました。ほとんどの子どもたちがハサミを正しく持ち、線に沿って丁寧に切ることができました。子どもたちは自分の作品に喜びと誇りを感じ、初めてのハサミを使った活動は楽しく、そして実りある学習体験となりました！✂️😊
D for DUCK! （D Duck /アヒル）
This week, we reviewed the letter D and explored words that begin with its sound. The students enthusiastically identified familiar D words and practiced recognizing the letter.
To reinforce their learning, we completed a fun “D is for Duck” craft activity. The children carefully colored each part of the duck before assembling it on the construction paper. They showed great understanding of where each body part belonged and independently glued the pieces in the correct places. It was wonderful to see their creativity, and growing confidence as they completed their adorable duck crafts!
今週は、文字「D」を復習し、その音で始まる単語を探しました。子どもたちは、身近な「D」のつく単語を熱心に見つけ出し、文字「D」を認識する練習をしました。
学習内容を定着させるため、「DはアヒルのD」をテーマにした楽しい工作を行いました。子どもたちは、画用紙にアヒルの各パーツを丁寧に色塗りし、組み立てていきました。それぞれのパーツがどこに属するのかをよく理解し、各自で正しい場所にパーツを貼り付けていきました。子どもたちの創造性と、可愛らしいアヒルの工作を完成させる過程で育まれる自信を見ることができて、とても嬉しかったです。

Birthday Party （バースデーパーティー）
We joyfully celebrated this month’s birthday celebrants with a special birthday party! One student from our class celebrated his birthday, and it was wonderful to see him smiling and enjoying the celebration with everyone.
The children sang “Happy Birthday,” presented him with a birthday card, and participated in fun activities together. It was a heartwarming time filled with laughter, friendship, and happy memories.
We wish you a year filled with happiness, good health, exciting adventures, and continued growth. May all your dreams come true as you learn and explore new things. Happy, happy birthday! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see all the wonderful things you will accomplish in the future!
バースデーパーティーでは、今月誕生日を迎えた生徒たちを盛大にお祝いしました！クラスの生徒の一人が誕生日を迎え、みんなと一緒に笑顔でお祝いを楽しんでいる姿を見ることができて、本当に嬉しかったです。
子どもたちは「ハッピーバースデー」を歌い、バースデーカードをプレゼントし、楽しいアクティビティを一緒に楽しみました。笑いと友情、そして素敵な思い出に満ちた、心温まるひとときでした。
