The Shooting Stars are on new paths and have new routines as they embrace their roles as big kids. With excitement and enthusiasm, they have taken on many new responsibilities, perfectly timed with the launch of our new learning unit. This week, we began Unit 1, titled “My Roles,” where we are discovering that everyone has different roles and important responsibilities in their lives.

シューティングスターズの子どもたちは、お兄さんお姉さんとしての役割を受け入れ、新たな道を歩み始め、新しい日課をこなしています。ワクワクと熱意をもって、子どもたちは多くの新しい責任を引き受け、それは新しい学習ユニットの開始と絶妙なタイミングでした。今週、私たちは「私の役割」と題したユニット1を開始しました。このユニットでは、誰もが人生において異なる役割と重要な責任を担っていることを学んでいます。

To kick off our exploration, we embarked on our first adventure to the library. The goal was to gather books that will help us build our knowledge about the many roles people play in different settings. We carefully selected books about schools, families, friends, and heroes, all of which will support our learning journey to become knowledgeable about the unit.

探求のスタートとして、私たちは最初の冒険として図書館へ出かけました。目的は、さまざまな場面で人々が担う多くの役割についての知識を深めるのに役立つ本を集めることでした。学校、家族、友達、そしてヒーローに関する本を慎重に選びました。これらの本はすべて、ユニットについて知識を深めるための学習の旅を支えてくれるものです。

So far, we have read Wow School!—a fun and visually engaging book that introduced us to the various roles people have within a school community. Together, we discussed questions like: Are you a student or a teacher? What do the students do in their classroom?  Some students suggested that many of the roles are about being caring!

これまでに、私たちは『ワオ・スクール！』を読みました。これは、学校コミュニティにおける人々の様々な役割を紹介する、楽しくて視覚的にも魅力的な本です。私たちは一緒に、「あなたは生徒？それとも先生？」「生徒は教室で何をするの？」といった質問を話し合いました。生徒の中には、多くの役割は思いやりを持つことだと答えた子もいました。

The highlight of the week was the start of extracurricular lessons, making it a busy and exciting time for the Shooting Stars. They first rode the bus to the gym for Dance, then headed to Swimming, and finished with a short walk to Music!

今週のハイライトは課外授業の開始で、シューティングスターズの生徒たちは忙しくも刺激的な日々を過ごしました。まずバスで体育館へ行きダンスをし、その後水泳、最後に少しだけ歩いて音楽の授業へ向かいました。

We visited the park and enjoyed the Sakura blossoms, even as the petals fell like snow flurries. The students made little camp site fire pits, planted some pretend trees and found joy in nature’s beauty. One day we even got caught in Spring sprinkles, as well, so they continued the fun playing indoors and reading their new books.

私たちは公園にも行って、雪のように舞い散る桜の花びらを楽しみました。生徒たちは自然の美しさに喜びを感じていました。今週は雨が降った日は、室内で遊んだり、新しい本を読んだりして楽しみました。
