Our visit to the Nagano Meteorological Center on May 18th was a meaningful conclusion to our weather unit and inquiry cycle. During the trip, students were able to confirm and connect the knowledge they learned in class with real-life observations and experiences.
The students explored different weather instruments used by meteorologists to observe and predict the weather. They also learned that the center monitors earthquakes to help keep communities informed and safe. The meteorologists explained how these instruments provide important data for making accurate weather forecasts.
Students also discovered that nature helps scientists recognize seasonal changes. Trees and plants such as sakura and hydrangeas give clues about the beginning of different seasons.
This field trip helped students deepen their understanding of how weather is observed and predicted, while encouraging them to continue being curious and reflective learners.
5月18日に訪れた Nagano Meteorological Center への見学は、私たちの天気の学習ユニットと探究サイクルを締めくくる、とても意義のある経験となりました。児童たちは、教室で学んだ知識を実際の観察や体験と結び付けながら、学びを確認することができました。
児童たちは、気象予報士が天気を観測・予測するために使用しているさまざまな気象観測機器について学びました。また、このセンターでは地震の観測も行っており、人々に情報を伝え、安全を守る役割があることも知りました。気象予報士の方々は、これらの機器が正確な天気予報を行うための大切なデータを提供していることを説明してくださいました。
さらに、自然そのものも季節の変化を知る手がかりになることを学びました。桜やあじさいなどの木や植物は、季節の始まりを知らせてくれるそうです。
今回の校外学習を通して、児童たちは天気がどのように観測・予測されているのかについて理解を深めることができました。また、これからも好奇心を持ち、振り返りながら学び続ける姿勢を育む機会となりました。
Exploring Biodiversity at Joetsu Aquarium
On May 22nd, we visited the Joetsu Aquarium to learn more about marine life and biodiversity. During the trip, students explored different sea creatures and discovered how the aquarium operates behind the scenes through a special backyard tour.
Students visited the freezer where animal food is stored, saw tanks used to help fish adjust to enclosed environments, and observed fish eggs. These experiences helped students better understand biodiversity and the importance of caring for marine ecosystems.
The highlight of the trip was the dolphin show. Everyone was amazed by the dolphins’ intelligence and the spectacular performance they shared with their trainers.
The trip was both fun and educational, helping students connect their learning to real-life experiences.
上越水族館で生物多様性を学びました
5月22日、私たちは Joetsu Aquarium を訪れ、海の生き物や生物多様性について学びました。校外学習では、さまざまな海の生き物を観察し、バックヤードツアーを通して水族館の裏側の仕事について知ることができました。
児童たちは、動物たちのエサを保管する冷凍庫を見学したり、魚が水槽環境に慣れるための水槽を見たり、魚の卵を観察したりしました。これらの体験を通して、生物多様性や海の生態系を守ることの大切さについて理解を深めました。
校外学習のハイライトはイルカショーでした。イルカたちの賢さや、トレーナーとの素晴らしいパフォーマンスに、みんな驚きと感動でいっぱいでした。
今回の校外学習は、楽しく学びの多い経験となり、児童たちは教室での学習を実際の体験と結び付けることができました。
