This week, we enjoyed many fun and meaningful learning experiences together!

We spent time at the park where the children had the opportunity to explore, play, and interact with their friends in the outdoor environment. The children enjoyed running, climbing, and discovering nature while developing their social and physical skills.

今週も、子どもたちと一緒に楽しく、そして意味のある学びの経験をたくさん楽しみました！

公園では、子どもたちが戸外環境の中で探索したり、遊んだり、友だちと関わったりする機会を持ちました。子どもたちは走ったり、登ったり、自然を発見したりすることを楽しみながら、社会性や身体能力を育んでいました。

The children also participated in a traffic safety drill. They practised important safety skills such as walking carefully, listening to instructions, and learning how to stay safe near roads and crossings. It was a valuable experience that helped build their awareness and understanding of safety rules.

In the classroom, we explored the concept of “same and different.” Through discussions and activities, the children compared objects, while learning to identify similarities and differences. This helped encourage observation, critical thinking, and communication skills.

子どもたちは交通安全教室にも参加しました。道路や横断歩道の近くで安全に過ごす方法を学びながら、気をつけて歩くことや、指示をしっかり聞くことなど、大切な安全スキルを練習しました。安全ルールへの意識や理解を深める、とても貴重な経験となりました。

また、クラスでは「同じところ」と「違うところ」という概念について探究しました。話し合いや活動を通して、子どもたちは物を比べながら、似ている点や異なる点を見つけることを学びました。この活動は、観察力や思考力、そしてコミュニケーション能力を育むことにつながりました。

We also read the wonderful story Elmer by David McKee. The children loved learning about Elmer, the colorful elephant who celebrates individuality and uniqueness. To extend the story, the children worked together to create a bright and colorful Elmer poster, showing their creativity and teamwork.

また、Elmer という素敵なお話も読みました。子どもたちは、一人ひとりの個性や違いを大切にする、カラフルなぞうのエルマーのお話を楽しみながら学びました。さらに、絵本の世界を広げる活動として、みんなで協力して明るくカラフルなエルマーのポスター作りにも取り組みました。子どもたちは創造力を発揮しながら、協力する楽しさも感じていました。

During free play and workstation times, the children participated in a variety of hands-on activities. They enjoyed making faces, completing body puzzles, and kneading play dough to create objects of their choice. The children also practiced buttoning and unbuttoning, helping to strengthen their fine motor skills and independence.

自由遊びやワークステーションの時間には、子どもたちはさまざまな実践的な活動に取り組みました。顔を作ったり、体のパズルを完成させたり、粘土をこねて自分の好きなものを作ったりすることを楽しんでいました。また、ボタンの留め外しにも挑戦し、指先を使う力（微細運動能力）や自立心を育む経験につながりました。

This week, the children also planted cherry tomato seedlings. First, they mixed the soil together, then carefully made holes and planted the seedlings. Finally, they watered the plants and agreed to continue caring for them so they can grow strong and healthy. Through this activity, the children practised taking turns, cooperating with others, and developing their self-management skills.

今週、子どもたちはミニトマトの苗植えにも取り組みました。まずみんなで土を混ぜ、その後、丁寧に穴を掘って苗を植えました。最後に水やりをし、これからも元気に大きく育つようにお世話を続けていこうと話し合いました。

この活動を通して、子どもたちは順番を守ることや友だちと協力すること、そして自己管理能力を育む経験をすることができました。
