At ISN, learning doesn’t stop with our students—it extends to our teachers as well.

As part of our ongoing Teacher Exchange Program, preschool and elementary teachers visit one another’s classrooms to observe, collaborate, and learn together. This initiative helps ensure that the strong foundations built in preschool continue seamlessly into the elementary years, creating a more connected learning journey for our students. ISNでは、子どもたちだけでなく、教師同士も学び合うことを大切にしています。

現在実施している**Teacher Exchange（教師交流プログラム）**では、PreschoolとElementaryの教師がお互いの授業を見学・実践することで、それぞれの教育への理解を深めています。この取り組みは、Preschoolで育まれた学びや探究の姿勢をElementaryへとつなぎ、一貫した学びを実現することを目的としています。

This week, it was Mr. Josh’s turn. Earlier this month, he visited the Rainforest class to observe our daily routines and see how inquiry-based learning is brought to life in the classroom. This week, he returned—not as an observer, but as the learning facilitator.

Mr. Josh led an engaging phonics lesson, helping our Rainforest learners deepen their understanding of the long /a/ vowel teams ai and ay. Through interactive activities, the students explored a variety of words and strengthened both their reading and spelling skills.今週は、Grade 2担当のMr. JoshがRainforestクラスを担当しました。

7月初旬には、Rainforestクラスの日課や探究学習（Inquiry）の進め方を見学しましたが、今回は実際にLearning Facilitatorとして授業を行いました。

フォニックスの時間では、長母音 /a/ の**「ai」と「ay」**をテーマに授業を実施。子どもたちはさまざまな単語に触れながら、楽しんで理解を深めることができました。

The learning didn’t stop there! To connect with our current Unit of Inquiry on teamwork, the class also participated in two exciting team challenges—the Telephone Game and the Towel Game. After each activity, the students reflected on what went well, what could be improved, and how working together affected the outcome.

By the end of the day, the children discovered an important lesson: teamwork is essential for achieving common goals. また、現在のUnit of Inquiry「Teamwork」に関連して、Telephone GameとTowel Gameの2つのチームチャレンジにも取り組みました。

ゲームの後には毎回振り返りの時間を設け、「何がうまくいったのか」「もっと良くするためにはどうすればよいか」を話し合いました。その中で、子どもたちは共通の目標を達成するためには、チームワークが欠かせないことを実感していました。
