Who Gives What? –Connecting Animals and People
In our animal inquiry game, the children put their listening skills and knowledge to the test. After an animal flashcard was shown, they raced to find the correct products that animal gives us, such as milk from cows, eggs from chickens, honey from bees, wool from sheep, and silk from silkworms. Through movement and play, the children strengthened their understanding of the connections between animals and the ways they help people. It was wonderful to see so many Curious Explorers and Brave Speakers confidently sharing their ideas while practicing taking turns and cheering on their classmates.

Fresh Eggs and New Discoveries — A Visit to the Chicken Farm
The children had been looking forward to our visit to the poultry farm, and they were excited (and just a little nervous!) to see so many chickens up close. They quietly entered the coop and had the chance to gently touch a chicken while making lots of observations like, “It’s soft!” and “It’s red!” as they noticed the comb. They also learned what chickens eat before collecting fresh eggs straight from the nest. The children were amazed that the eggs were still warm and carefully placed them into their boxes to take home.

Back at school, everyone was eager to share what they had noticed—from the way the chickens walked and sounded to even how they smelled! The excitement continued the next day as the children proudly talked about what they did with their eggs at home, whether they cooked them or carefully put them in the refrigerator. It was a wonderful hands-on experience that brought our animal inquiry to life.

Our Animal Dioramas Are Coming to Life!
To wrap up our Animals Unit, the children have been creating their final diorama projects. Each student chose an animal and built its habitat while thinking about whether it lives on land, in the water, or in the air.

Using paint, shoeboxes, scissors, glue, and other craft items the children brought their ideas to life, adding their animals and the products they provide, such as milk, eggs, honey, wool, and silk.

Next, each student will present their diorama to the class, sharing their animal, its habitat, and what people can get from it. We can’t wait to see everyone proudly share what they have learned!
