Nakano Campus, Elementary School

A message from the programme lead

Surrounded by the five peaks of northern Nagano, this landscape is the stage for learning at Nakano.

Alongside the Shiga Highlands UNESCO Eco Park environmental learning programme, we make active use of the natural setting for a full range of outdoor activities.

The programme follows our Gojo elementary school — which holds Article 1 school accreditation — almost exactly. Working mainly in English and Japanese, children sharpen their curiosity and their ability to express themselves, and grow into taking the lead in their own learning.
