This week was a busy and exciting one as we finished our Sports Festival preparations and enjoyed some special events, including a visit to Tsuchiya Plum Orchard.
今週は、Sports Festivalの準備を仕上げたり、土屋プルーン園へ行ったりして、とても忙しく楽しい一週間になりました。
The children were excited to ride the bus to Cosmos Hall and then walk together to the orchard. It was a new experience for many of them and a great opportunity to practice walking safely together and enjoying the world outside the classroom.
子どもたちは、バスでコスモスホールまで行き、そこからみんなで果樹園まで歩くことを楽しみにしていました。初めての経験になった子も多く、みんなで安全に歩く練習をしながら、教室の外の世界を楽しむ良い機会になりました。
At the orchard, the children listened to Mr. Tsuchiya talk about the history of plums in Japan and Saku City. Our Curious Explorers listened and learned about where the fruit comes from and how it is grown in Saku.
果樹園では、土屋さんから日本や佐久市のプルーンの歴史についてお話を聞きました。Auroraの「好奇心ある探究者」たちは、よく話を聞き、プルーンがどこから来るのか、佐久でどのように育てられているのかを学びました。
Then came the most exciting part–picking the plums! The children carefully climbed the ladders and chose fruit from the trees. It was the perfect season for harvesting as the plums were wonderfully juicy and sweet. It was a great hands-on learning experience that connected the children with nature and our local community.
そして、一番楽しみにしていたプルーン狩りの時間です！子どもたちは気をつけながらはしごに登り、木から自分でプルーンを選んで取りました。ちょうど収穫にぴったりの時期で、プルーンはとてもみずみずしくて甘かったです。自然や地域のことを実際に体験しながら学ぶ、素敵な時間になりました。
Finally, on Friday the 18th, we held the very first ISN Kirihara Sports Festival!
そして、ついに18日金曜日、ISN Kiriharaで初めてのSports Festivalを行いました！
The children were excited to show their families and friends how much they had learned and practiced during Unit 2 and their Gym lessons. They showed their movement skills, listening skills, and body control. They challenged themselves and did their best from beginning to end.
子どもたちは、Unit 2やGymで学び、練習してきたことを家族や友だちに見てもらうことをとても楽しみにしていました。体を動かす力、話を聞く力、そして体をコントロールする力をしっかり見せてくれました。最後までチャレンジし、一人ひとりが一生懸命頑張りました。
Our parents were also full of smiles as they cheered for the children and joined in the Sports Festival activities. It was wonderful to see children, families, and teachers enjoying the day together as one community.
保護者の皆さまも笑顔いっぱいで子どもたちを応援し、Sports Festivalの活動にも一緒に参加してくださいました。子どもたち、家族、先生たちが一つのコミュニティとして一緒に楽しい時間を過ごす姿を見ることができ、とても素敵な一日になりました。
It was a wonderful way to finish a very busy week and head into Silver Week!
