Welcome back everyone! I hope everyone had a fun and refreshing Summer Break. Those of you who joined us for our Summer Program, thank you! We had a ton of fun working on creating games and stories to share with everyone.
Last unit, the students created their own weather instruments and kept record of the local weather in their weather journals. They used these to take a stab at forecasting the weather themselves, and shared their creations with everyone during the Inquiry Fair.
Now, we’re moving on to UOI 3, where we will be will be learning about How We Organize Ourselves – Traditions and Teams.

Already, the students have lots of questions on the topic!

So far, we have been talking about family and local traditions. Thanks to my father digitizing some family home videos from back in the day, I was able to share with the students videos of my family doing our Christmas morning traditions. Students got a kick out of seeing little Josh screaming about the presents under the tree.
Then, they had a chance to share about their own personal favorite traditions:

As we finish looking into how local traditions bring a group together, we will be moving on to how teams organize themselves with roles and rules to help everyone in the group achieve a common goal. Stay tuned!
