Rainbow: Enjoying learning about shapes(May 18th-22nd)

Hi everyone! It seems the rainy season is finally upon us. Although we unfortunately had to cancel the much-awaited bus trip, we are grateful that we were still able to enjoy the yummy bentos our parents made for us. We also spent some time refining our fine motor skills by doing rainy day themed crafts. We drew eyes on snails and made them colorful with crayons. We also made flowers using paint! Everyone dipped two sides of a four-sided folded paper into colors of their choice. Some friends were a bit reluctant at first because they were afraid of getting their hands wet or covered in paint, but they quickly warmed up to the activity and enjoyed themselves.

みなさん、こんにちは！いよいよ梅雨の季節がやってきたようですね。楽しみにしていたバス遠足は残念ながら中止となってしまいましたが、保護者の皆さまが作ってくださったおいしいお弁当を楽しむことができ、子どもたちはとても嬉しそうでした。

また、雨の日をテーマにした製作活動を通して、指先を使う力も育みました。かたつむりに目を描いたり、クレヨンでカラフルに色を塗ったり。さらに、絵の具を使ってお花も作りました！四つ折りにした紙の両側を、自分で選んだ色に浸して模様を作りました。

最初は「手が濡れるのが嫌だな」「絵の具がつくのが心配…」と少し戸惑うお友だちもいましたが、活動が始まるとすぐに慣れ、楽しみながら取り組む姿が見られました。

Birthday party

We kicked off our his week with a happy birthday party for those born in May. The whole school gathered in the music room and sang “Happy Birthday” and clapped our hands together. The Milky Way homeroom teachers, Ms.Marlyn and Ms.Taeko were in charge this month. They prepared a May/spring themed ” this or that” game where we had to listen carefully to the question asked and move either to the left side or right side of the room.Everyone smiled and enjoyed celebrating with their friends. Our sweet rainbow friends were caring and kind during the party time.

今週は、5月生まれのお友だちのお誕生日会からスタートしました。スクールのみんながミュージックルームに集まり、「Happy Birthday」を歌ってお祝いしました。また、Milky Wayの先生達が5月や春をテーマにした “This or That” ゲームを準備してくれ、質問をよく聞いて、部屋の左側か右側へ移動して楽しみました。みんな笑顔で、お友だちと一緒にお祝いする時間を楽しんでいました。Rainbowのお友だちも、パーティーの中で優しく思いやりのある姿をたくさん見せてくれました。

Our shapes topic

We enjoyed learning more about shapes this week! Rainbow friends looked for circles, squares, and triangles in the classroom. We sang shape songs together and used shape cards during circle time. They were all excited to point to different shapes and say their names. Everyone did a great job trying and participating!

形についても楽しく学んでいます！教室の中で丸、四角、三角、ハートやダイヤを探しました。みんなで形の歌を歌ったり、サークルタイムでは形カードを使ったり。いろいろな形を指さしながら、名前を覚えて言ってみようとワクワクしています。みんな積極的に参加し、一生懸命取り組む姿がとても素晴らしかったです！

Fun at the park!

We had lots of fun at the park this week. Running around, throwing balls and catching them, trying to catch bubbles was very energy consuming!! We also looked at flowers, leaves, and bugs around the park. Everyone practiced taking turns and using kind words while playing together. It was wonderful to see their happy smiles!

公園でもたくさん楽しく遊びました。走り回ったり、ボールを投げたりキャッチしたり、シャボン玉を追いかけたりして、みんな元気いっぱいでした！また、公園にあるお花や葉っぱ、虫たちも興味を持って観察していました。遊ぶ中では、順番を守ったり、優しい言葉を使ったりする練習もしました。子どもたちの楽しそうな笑顔がたくさん見られて、とても素敵な時間になりました。
