Nagano Rainbow/Aurora- Growing Little Learners One Skill at a Time (May 11th-14th)

Hello Everyone!

We’ve already enter the month of May most of the kids are getting comfortable being in school, they’ve gotten used to the routine and are having fun with being with friends and teachers as well. After a week long vacation during the Golden week, coming back to school was a breeze not much crying and we are so glad that kids have somehow transitioned to enjoying their time at school.

This week in preschool, Both Aurora and Rainbow Class had so much fun learning, moving, and exploring together! Both classes enjoyed lots of outdoor play where the children practiced important motor skills through fun activities.

In music class, Aurora and Rainbow class explored rhythm by clapping, and moving to different beats. They practiced listening carefully and keeping time with songs, which brought lots of smiles and excitement.

Aurora Class

UOI – Aurora Class had a school tour. Holding their ISN passport in hand, We pretended to ride an airplane and  toured our campus. We visited different classrooms and interacted with our older friends and the teachers in school, Kids got to explore the different rooms in our school, like the office, music room, the library and more. Every time we entered a room we got a stamp or a sticker from our visit. Through this activity Aurora kids got a better sense of what’s around them, they are able to familiarized themselves of the different spaces in school, they get to know who are the people at school and what their roles are and kids can see how we are all different or similar to each other. Kids also got the sense of belonging when they were welcomed by the other classes, the teachers and other school staff. Having awareness of what’s around them makes them feel safe, welcomed, seen and secured making them more confident in school.

Aurora Class also worked on their writing and cutting skills by tracing lines, and safely using scissors to cut along patterns. These activities helped strengthen hand muscles and improve coordination while encouraging creativity.

During Aurora’s dance lesson, the children expressed themselves through movement and learned simple routines that encouraged balance, coordination, and confidence. Everyone loved moving their bodies and dancing with friends.

Rainbow Class

We introduced our new monthly theme in Rainbow Class: Farm Animals! The children were excited to learn about animals that live on farms, the sounds they make, and we sang songs related to this month’s theme.

Throughout the month, we will read stories, sing songs, create art projects, and explore many fun farm-themed activities.

In gym class, the Rainbow kids stayed active with obstacle courses, jumping games, balancing activities, and team movement exercises. These activities supported gross motor development while teaching cooperation and listening skills.

We are so proud of all the learning, creativity, and joyful participation this week. Thank you for your continued support! Sharing here the photos and video link.
