Over the past two weeks, we reached the final stage of Unit 2 before the summer break. As part of our learning, we visited KorokkeLand to discover how croquettes are produced and to understand the importance of food production in our community. During the visit, the students explored the different areas of the factory, including the sanitation area, food preparation area, assembly line, and large refrigerated storage. We were also fortunate to receive a special lesson from the factory owner, who explained the production process and the care that goes into making food safely and efficiently. To finish the experience, everyone had the opportunity to taste KorokkeLand’s delicious croquettes! This visit helped the students develop a greater appreciation for the effort involved in preparing food and encouraged them to value the meals they eat every day.

学習の一環として、コロッケランドを訪問し、コロッケがどのように作られているのか、また地域の人々のために食べ物がどのように生産されているのかについて学びました。工場では、衛生管理エリア、食材の準備エリア、製造ライン、大型冷蔵庫など、さまざまな場所を見学しました。また、工場の社長さんから直接お話を聞く機会もあり、食品づくりの工程や、安全でおいしい食品を届けるための工夫について教えていただきました。最後には、できたてのおいしいコロッケを試食させていただきました。この見学を通して、子どもたちは食べ物が食卓に届くまでの過程を知り、毎日の食事への感謝の気持ちを深めることができました。

Afterwards, we visited the roadside station, Hana no Eki, where the students explored the local grocery section. Using the knowledge they had gained throughout the unit, they selected and purchased vegetables to take home. We hope they enjoyed using these fresh ingredients to prepare healthy dishes with their families. Of course, no trip would be complete without a treat, so everyone also enjoyed some delicious ice cream before concluding our wonderful field trip.

その後は、道の駅「花の駅」を訪れ、地元で採れた野菜などが販売されている売り場を見学しました。子どもたちはユニットで学んだことを生かし、それぞれ野菜を選んで購入しました。ご家庭では、その野菜を使って健康的な料理作りに挑戦してくれたことと思います。また、最後にはみんなでおいしいアイスクリームを食べ、楽しい校外学習を締めくくりました。

In addition, we were delighted to welcome back one of our classmates from last year, who was visiting from the United States. It was wonderful to see you again after such a long time, and we are so happy to hear that you are doing well. We hope to see you again in the future!

さらに、昨年度同じクラスだったお友達がアメリカから遊びに来てくれました。久しぶりに元気な姿を見ることができ、とてもうれしかったです。またいつか会える日を楽しみにしています！
