Hello, dear parents and friends!

We had a wonderful week as we wrapped up our first IB Unit of Inquiry, “Who We Are.” Throughout this unit, students explored their unique identities by learning about themselves, their likes, and what makes each of them special.

To conclude our unit, the children completed their worksheets by drawing their faces and sharing their favorite foods, toys, animals, and colors. They were excited to talk about the things they enjoy and proudly shared their ideas with their classmates. It was heartwarming to see their confidence grow as they expressed themselves and celebrated their individuality.

During our afternoon circle time, we reflected on the day’s experiences and discussed the Learner Profiles that the children demonstrated throughout the day. Our students eagerly shared examples of their positive behaviors. Some proudly said, “I walked in the hallway!” “I listened to the teacher!” and “I sat nicely!” We connected these actions to being Principled, as they showed responsibility and followed our classroom expectations.

Other children shared, “I ate my vegetables!” and “I finished my food quickly!” We celebrated these moments as examples of being Risk-takers, encouraging them to try new things and make healthy choices with confidence.

We also heard kind words such as, “Are you okay?” “Excuse me.” and “I’m sorry.” These thoughtful actions showed that our students are becoming Caring individuals who are learning to show kindness, empathy, and respect toward others.

We are so proud of how much our young learners have grown throughout this unit. They have discovered more about themselves, built meaningful friendships, and practiced positive behaviors that help create a happy and caring classroom community.

Learning the Letter E

This week, we explored the letter E and learned about words that begin with it. The children practiced recognizing the uppercase E, listened to its sound, and identified objects that start with the letter, such as egg, elephant, eagle, elbow, elevator, excavator, exercise and elevator.

Through games, discussions, and hands-on activities, the children strengthened their letter recognition and phonics skills. They enjoyed sharing words they already knew and were excited to discover new ones. Great job, Aurora, for your enthusiasm and participation as we continue our alphabet journey!

Gym Lesson Fun!

With the cooler weather this week, it was the perfect time for an energetic gym lesson! The children had a wonderful time staying active as they stretched their bodies and moved through a variety of fun exercises that helped develop their gross motor skills, coordination, and balance.

One of the highlights of the lesson was playing with the colorful parachute. The children were excited to explore this new activity! They formed a big circle around the parachute and carefully listened to the teacher’s instructions. Together, they practiced lifting it up and down, moving it in different ways, and following directions on when to go under the parachute and when to stay on the outside. The activity encouraged teamwork, listening skills, and cooperation while bringing lots of smiles and laughter.

It was a fun-filled gym session that kept everyone active, engaged, and happy!

Cutting Activity

This week, the children practiced cutting along straight lines using safety scissors. This activity helped strengthen their fine motor skills, hand muscles, and hand-eye coordination while encouraging them to use scissors safely and correctly.

The children focused on holding the scissors properly, opening and closing them with control, and carefully following the straight lines. They showed great concentration and perseverance as they worked to improve their cutting skills. We were proud to see their confidence grow with each attempt, and they were excited to show their completed work!
