Greetings from Shooting Star!
After a long holiday, the students returned excited to share their experiences and reconnect with our Unit of Inquiry on small creatures. During our sharing circle, everyone talked about their vacation, where they went, and the small creatures they saw. To make the lesson more fun and interactive, the students walked around the classroom and found different partners to share their holiday experiences with. After sharing, they reflected on their learning by drawing the life cycle of a small creature they saw during the holiday or one they hoped to see. This activity allowed the students to connect their personal experiences with our unit and recall what they already knew about how small creatures grow and change.
こんにちは！長いお休みが終わり、子どもたちは元気いっぱいに登園！お休み中の出来事を嬉しそうに話したり、お友だちとの再会を喜んだりしていました😊
UOI「小さな生き物」の探究も再スタート！「どこに行った？」「どんな小さな生き物を見つけた？」など、お休み中の経験をみんなで共有しました🐞🦋さらに、教室の中を歩きながら、いろいろなお友だちとペアになってお休みの思い出を伝え合う活動も楽しみました♪
最後には、お休み中に見つけた小さな生き物、または「見てみたい！」と思った生き物を選び、そのライフサイクルを絵に描きました。自分の体験とこれまでの学びをつなげながら、「卵からどうなるんだろう？」と考える姿も見られました✨楽しかったお休みの思い出をきっかけに、これまでの学びを振り返りながら、UOIの探究をまた楽しく進めていきたいと思います🌱🐛🦋
During our Small Creature Show and Tell, the students had the opportunity to bring small creatures and share them with their friends. Each student proudly showed what they brought and talked about where they found or got it. They also observed and described their small creatures by identifying whether they were a boy or a girl and comparing their sizes, such as big or small. Through this activity, the students practiced observing, describing, and sharing their ideas while developing their curiosity and appreciation for the small creatures around them.
UOI「小さな生き物」の活動として、Small Creature Show and Tellを行いました🐞🦋🐌お家から小さな生き物を持ってきてくれたお友達が、クラスのお友だちの前でその生き物について紹介したり、お友達からの質問に答えたりしました。「どこで見つけたの？」「どこから来たの？」など、見つけた場所や入手したきっかけも嬉しそうに教えてくれました😊
また、持ってきた生き物をじっくり観察しながら、「男の子かな？女の子かな？」「大きいかな？小さいかな？」と特徴を比べたり、自分なりに気付いたことを伝えたりしました。お友だちの生き物にも興味津々で、発表を聞きながら「見せて！」「こっちにもいるよ！」と楽しそうに交流する姿も見られました✨実際の生き物を観察して、気付いたことを言葉にして伝える経験を通して、観察する力や表現する力を育みながら、小さな生き物への興味や好奇心もさらに広がりました🌿🐛💕
We celebrated our August Birthday Party with a fun and exciting summer-themed game. The students were given different questions and had to think carefully about the answers. They then lined up beside the picture they believed showed the correct answer. The activity encouraged the students to listen, think, make choices, and participate actively while having fun with their friends. It was a joyful way to celebrate our August birthday celebrants and enjoy the summer season together.
8月生まれのお友達のお誕生日会をみんなで楽しみました🎂🌻今回は、夏にちなんだクイズゲームに挑戦！先生から出されるいろいろな質問をよく聞いて、「どっちかな？」と考えながら、自分が正しいと思う答えの方へ移動しました😊「こっちだと思う！」「やっぱりこっちかな？」と、お友だちと相談しながら答えを選ぶ姿も見られ、楽しみながら考えることができました♪お友だちと一緒にゲームを楽しみながら、夏らしい楽しいひとときを過ごすことができました🎉✨
8月生まれのお友だち、お誕生日おめでとう！💕🎂🌈
This week in our Phonics lesson, we focused on the short /e/ sound and explored word families that belong to the -ed and -eg families. The students practiced identifying and saying the /e/ sound in different words, such as bed, red, fed, wed, led, Meg, keg, peg, leg, and beg. Through engaging activities and word practice, they developed their phonemic awareness and became more confident in recognizing and reading words with the short /e/ sound.
Phonicsでは、短い「/e/」の音に注目し、-edと-egのワードファミリーについて学びました🔤✨「/e/」の音を意識しながら、bed, red, fed, wed, led, Meg, keg, peg, leg, beg などの単語を練習しました。単語を声に出して読んだり、同じ音の仲間を見つけたりしながら、楽しんでPhonicsに取り組んでいました😊少しずつ「この単語も同じ音だ！」と気付けるようになり、短い「/e/」の音を使った単語を読むことにも自信がついてきています♪📚🌟
